TIPS on clones needed

Hey guys, not my first grow, just started the business of making babies tho. And from what I see out there on the markets, I see often seedling that have rooted into either Oasis cubes, rockwool or peet plugs, but them seedlings have very very short nodes compared to mine.

My mothers are under a set of 8 t5 with 6500k at a distance of approx 12 inch away.

Would switching to MH Lightning make it easier to solve this prob? Also how many Watts? 1000 ?

Problem i'm having is that my baby clones are maybe twice the size of those I saw, and makes it more complicated for transportation.

Plus I would rather them having a more bushier look.

Node spacing can be affected by light but also by genetics. I use MH to veg and get better results than I did with T5 or CFL banks. I also veg 24/0.Start them at least 24" away from a 400 watt. A bit further for a 600.

You could move t5's much closer than 12"

Node spacing can also be determinate of where the cutting is taken. You could bring that light closer like 4-6". 6500 K is fine for what you are doing. I veg under 6 4' T8s @ 6500K and my plants are beautiful without stretch. You can take cuttings from your moms as long as you are not taking much. I take cuts from the top of my mothers for height and also there is still plenty of foliage to thrive as well as having some primo clones with multi nodes so they can be vegged shorter. I always used to take cuts from the bottom, but I have no problem with them rooting quickly. I say if you are just keeping mothers for clones and you need a fair amount, then taking them from the top is going to give you more opportunity to take more cuts more often. If you have happy plants you will be amazed how fast they recover and become bigger than before. They get enough new growth quicker to me than if you take cuts from the lower part of the plant. I now only see a need to take cuts from the bottom if I am throwing that lady into flower.
