Tips for Keeping your Nutes Fresh in your Res

I'm looking for tips to keep your mutes fresh longer while they are sitting in your res waiting to be pumped to your plants.

the only 2 ideas i could come up with that might extend their shelf life are:

a circulating pump in the res to constantly spray the water around the res
or
some kind of chiller to keep them colder

and since the first one is the only really practical one in my current situation its what i'm leaning toward. does anyone know how well this works or how long they should be good? I am using the basic Technaflora line by BC but hope to switch to a simpler formula soon.

any other ideas would be welcome also.

Btw, a water pump in your res circulating the water 24/7 can heat the water up from the pump running constantly

hummm, that seems so obvious, i cant imagine why that didn't occur to me, I used to grow in a DWC.

Thank you very much. I think that will pretty much do it.

Keeping any organic material out of your res solution keeps it from being fouled by unwanted bacterial overgrowth. This is especially true for those who go all out to eliminate chloramines in their water. I suggest adding a very small pump to run your solution through a simple filter to collect the big goobers. If you have DWC experience then you already know this. Keep your solution container closed and block out all light, keep it as cool as possible (heat accelerates bacterial growth and algae blooms) and filter your solution.

Minus the airstones. Unneeded and slime magnets.
You could always just change them out once a month or two, and soak the old ones In some h2o2. I find them an easy solution to keeping the airlines submerged, and I've never had a problem with slime in 2 years of dwc and ebb n flow.

Not sure if it would help your system, but I add Aquashield from Botanicare and a little Pondzyme, but my nute solution gets circulated all the time and gets changed every 2-3 weeks.

Thanks guys, I do like the idea of a filter on a circulating pump, but i think i'm going to start simple and add air stones and see how that works. ATM I only need them stay fresh about 1.5 - 2 weeks, as my DYI automated system needs human interaction that often to change nute strength and water schedule for the larger plants.
