Tinctures

I've been saving my stems from my smoke and had a couple friends do the same for me for a couple months.. Now I'm ready to make some tinctures! I tried to do it before but with only a small amount of stems. I am going to add some prime nug to it, and I have thrown nugs in with it the whole time so it should be pretty potent. Has been stored in jars and they smell danky.
I plan on crushing together welland then using ever clear. I'm young and I don't mind a little alcohol (:
I don't plan on having it anytime soon, at least letting it sit for a couple months.
If anyone's got any pointers for me please share! Maybe tips for taste or potency?

My buddy uses Absinthe as the solvent which adds to the experience. Get a spray head for your little medicine bottle to spray the tincture as needed.
Everclear is your best option for pure alcohol.
Look up decarboxylation of cannabis. You will find out that you should cook the bud to convert it to THC from THCA. This should be done before making the tincture. Otherwise the THCA is not psycoactive. Smoking makes it psycoactive soaking it in alcohol doesnt. I have soaked long and the longer you soak the more other things come out of the plant. If you want a clearer tincture do a quick day or week at most. The longer you soak the more chloraphyl and other things get disolved in the alcohol. Enjoy and try to make a glycerin tincture next. Very tasty and easily decarboxylated.

Interesting about the absinthe! Ever clear is what I planned on using but it is harder to find around here anymore than I thought it would be.
I have never heard about cooking the bud before M all in tinctures, but I will do my research tonight when I get home! I definitely want the most potent mixture I can make.
Obviously I don't want the chlorophyll or any other extra unneeded parts in the mix, but clarity is unimportant as it will just be for personal.
I will also be checking out glycerin cruces as I have never heard of them before either.
Thank you for the info (:
