I have been reading about glycerin tinctures lately and today have finally decided to give it a go. I ground up 2 grams into a large mason jar and mixed in about an ounce of vegetable glycerin. Now I wanted to try the process out with a small batch at first and this mixture barely hits the 1/10th fill level mark of the jar, which leaves lots of empty space.
Problem is, the glycerin is sticking to the side of the sides of the jar and not dripping back down into the pool, which I am afraid will result in lowered potency. I am even heating the jar on the warming plate of a mr.coffee home drip machine (to speed the process) and although heating DOES help thin the liquid, there is still much stuck to the walls.
Any advice on how to make it all gather and stay?
