Tincture Bottles

I've always HEARD that you want the amber glass bottles specifically.
Never personally made tinctures, but I have a buddy that is paranoid about the sunlight degrading his tinctures over time.

Might be something to look into?

my little bottles came in.I got 1,2 and 4 dram size bottles. I think the 1 dram will be much to small for anything. but the 2 will be good for work and the 4 dram might be a good size for a weekend trip. they are all amber in color. I heard from some where that blue will work also. in 2 weeks i will have something to put in them. im using 100 proof absolute vodka. that stuff is $!

It's best not to let ANY light in, so I usually paint my bottles black or wrap duct tape around them.

I want a few bottles of glycerin tincture like that..

Just go around squirting drops in peoples mouths..

I make tincture by the gallon and have never worried about amber bottles or sunlight decaying the THC? Does anyone have proof or can taste/feel the difference in tincture that has been covered from the sun and some that hasnt?

Purplehazin what part of Oregon you in?

Hey westcoastdank or anyone else, do you know what type of shelflife tinctures have? Im in the process of making some tinctures from alcohol and glycerin now and will do my own experiments.

My end goal is to get a product such as candy or food item that I can dissolve under my tongue for about 1 month traveling worth of medication with no refrigeration in a backpack.

Thanks for posting that. Was wondering where to get those damn bottles.
Ecofrog...tintures have at least a 2 year shelf life if stored properly.

In a backpack, traveling in tropical countries... so it will be dark but not cool. I suspect that it will retain most of its potency for at least a few month as long as it doesnt get too warm. I was considering dosing black licorice as its black, absorptive and strong smelling. Twizzlers was nice enough to make some bite sized already for me...

Ive always had the impression of, the longer it sits the more potent it gets.. I don't think they have a "shelf life"

I have tincture that has been sitting for 5 plus years and i believe its still as potent as the first day i tried it!

Thats a cool idea about having medication for a month without buds.. Try simpson pills!

a glycerin tincture wont last in warm dark conditions of tropical backpacking.... I'd stick with alcohol tincture and it will remain potent for a while even with the heat as long as it's kept dark... and it isn't insanely hard to put it in it's own little thermal-insulating thing to keep it cool most of the day from the night time cold....
