time is relative

Hypothetically of course, because drugs are bad umm kay!... Has anyone ever considered using a cycle timer instead of a normal 24-hour timer on their lights during flower.

I was thinking, I know for instance, some strains will flower under 13-11 and even under 14-10 for some really anxious girls. And we all know the more light the better. And we also know how important it is to have a long period of low light conditions during flowering.

So what if you said to hell with the circadian cycle and used a cycle timer on your lights. This is a timer that you set by telling it how long to stay on, and then how long to stay off. If cycles back and forth between states at the interval you tell it to.

So you could take that and tell it to stay on for let's say 16 hours and then to stay off for 12 hours. That way you'd get lots of light for your growing flowers and still have plenty of dark for whatever it is that happens in the dark (forgive me for not knowing EVERYTHING).

Like I said, it was just a thought and shortly after I had it I thought well maybe someone else already had it and here I am.

Well I've had so many bad high ideas in the past I thought I'd see if anyone else had tried it before I wasted my time/money on it (cycle timers aren't cheap like 24-hour timers... although building one wouldn't be that hard if you used electronics...).

Edit: I know you can get chickens to lay more eggs by tricking them into thinking the days are shorter... like 12 or 14 hours instead of 24. The lay twice a day instead of once. That may have led to this idea... although the execution would be for the opposite effect... 30-32+ hour days.. as if we were on another planet... or started spinning slower.
