In these types of ridings I think the best strategy is to try and get the Green and NDP voters to turn to the Liberals this election, rather than trying to sway the Con vote. Easier said than done...

Hey bigman, I have been looking at the legalization issue for 35 years and there have been times when I felt the same way as you-keep the gov. out of it. As I've gotten older, I've gotten a little (lot) less willing to accept government interference in my life, including denying me the freedom to grow a plant. I now actively and publicly advocate for complete legalization with pretty much the same restrictions and controls as alcohol. Just as I can brew my own beer for personal consumption, any adult should have the same right when it comes to cannabis. And much like most people find it more convenient to stop at a beer store for refreshments, the vast majority of rec users would buy from LP's or storefronts, and pay taxes for that. Now that we are on the cusp of legalization, we need to make sure we are loud and clear on what it needs to look like, and accept nothing less.
As far as the election goes...if Harptler gets back in, I'm moving to Iceland or somewhere! I expect a Liberal win- I would prefer a minority Liberal gov. with an NDP opposition. After the shit the CONs have pulled, I don't trust anyone to have a majority.

I live in CON party-whip John Duncan's riding...I exercise my democratic right to representation by my elected MP on a regular basis. Unfortunately the cons do not believe in democracy, so I am ignored. Leaffan is right about the young vote. I have two young adult children who have never voted...that's going to change in October.

i've been able to vote for four years now and this will be my first time doing so. not because of legalization alone, but because of the fact that i don't agree with anything that the conservative government stands for. i'm afraid i won't be a proud canadian anymore if we leave it up to harper.

Well you guys are going to laugh and say "I told you so", but tilray sent me an empty container of their house blend, an actually empty container, sealed and packaged properly. My jaw all but dropped when I opened the bottle and saw total complete pristine nothingness inside. I called them right away to report it the moment I opened it and they're sending me a replacement container on Monday after deeply apologizing, and allegedly conducting an internal investigation. So, it was a failure to launch, but stay tuned for a quality report.

Never had that happen to me on the bm or from any dispensary or cc. You vote with your money Everytime you order. You voted wrong. Paid good money for shake and didn't even get what you paid for. Now we know they are going to make up for that by sending complimentary shit. At least you'll be made whole. I still got really nice tuna kush in 3 days and it was .5 over for less then a doller more then you got the invisashake for.

I appreciate the anti-LP sentiment but please remember that there is a group of people who are stuck with legal LP "medicine" or the illegal-to-them grey market.
I understand your stance but there's a difference between attacking the LPs for being vampires feeding off the sick and the sick people forced to work within a poorly designed legal framework. Let's not victimize the mmpr patients any more than necessary.
I'm not attacking him. I'm pointing out the reality of being a mmj patient in Canada under the mmpr. Not sure why anyone is afraid of a unjust law that even the police refuse to enforce. Seriously I challenge anyone reading this for find a Mmpr patient has been charged with possession in Canada for accessing their meds without using a lp since the rules changed this past April. You can't because they don't exist. When sick people are paying $150 a oz for shake that is tested at 10% tch its my duty to point out you can buy real meds with more then twice the thc content for $160. Maybe he won't take my advice to heart but maybe someone else is reading this and they can figure out wasting $$ on lp's is not the only way. My goal is to keep singin the same song convincing mmj users the lp route is only providing inferior and overpriced meds under the guise of being legal. But as members of riu can read themselves the only person among us who has been charged since the mmpr roll out is someone who followed the lp rules and was arrested without a single fuck given by the cops that his meds were legal or in a lp bottle. I'm just in favor of cutting all the bullshit the lp supporters use to try and justify using lp's over any other means.
At MPN you can buy an ounce of better quality weed for $140. Or you also have the option to pay $240 for top shelf. Either route you take its still better and cheaper than buying from Tilray. If it makes you feel better it comes in bags with your name on it kinda like from an L.P. just carry your medical document in your wallet. You should be covered.
