Ti Screen Lit up like Thermite!!

So, just wondering if this is a common thing or what.

I melted a few times on a brand new Ti screen then took the torch to it to clean it. The side opposite where I was holding it suddenly lit up bright white and started sparking like a firework or welder.

It blinded me so I had to look away but it sparked a few times then that section of the screen just crumbled. Hasn't happened since but did I just get it too hot or what?

I got 2 of them at Illusion. Label says ArTime Screens.

Were $6, 32 wire, and I'd say 5/8".

that sounds crazy. sounds like lighting magnesium on fire

if you go to illuzions in denver, try their Nikka T screens. theyre metal screens w a bronze/brass ring around them. super cheap like less than a buck a piece. great for concentrates.

i use mine on my subcool/earl dabs pipe and it works great. if i have any unused ones lying around ill try to get a pic up for you

Update, that screen that lit up and crumbled lasted about a week. It stated fallinng apart then last night i tried to smash some bubble onto it and the thing ripped in half. Using the 2nd one now and being much more gentile with it, lol.

I've seen those basket screens, look pretty cool.

Btw, I'm 99% sure the Ti screens on the EE site are the exact same ones on Aqualab. I have one of each wire arriving sometime today actually.
