Thanks bro!!! and yes, no more algae spray ever!!! in fact everytime i water them now i take a sip of the water before I give it to them... just to keep in check that the containers are that clean!

and as far as the price on the new light.... get ready to cringe..... $525 with shipping! but I think of it this way... I am removing over 450Watts in CFL/HPS and only adding 180Watt draw from the new panel. so I am saving 270 Watts of power daily! and the panel lasts for 12 years so that should be some good savings over that time. I hope.....

very cool man!
Thanks dude!! when i get the new panel i will take photos to show how much brighter it is!!!

I think it would pay for its self in the first year wattage and that lil extra potencey you said you get w/ the LED's

part of that wattage reduction is only for 12 hrs a day... but still it's a great savings!!! plus i am really counting on a larger yield with it. this led company has a 120 day money back guaranty that if your plants don't grow as great as they advertise. you need to keep a daily journal and weekly pictures. they sound like a no bull company. this is one of the reasons i chose them. here is a link if you are interested http://growledhydro.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=5

one thing i like is they advertise the watts drawn by the panel. most other companies have one hundred 3W diodes and saw it's a 300W panel. but diodes don't draw their full wattage EVER. so saying it is a 300W is incorrect. it would really be 180W draw including fans and circuitry... just some food for thought!

95% of light is absorbed, 80% more effecient than a HPS, gonna have to go w/ this or something simular after I move in December!!

They are great for confined spaces. almost no heat what so ever, no thermal footprint, and long lasting.

Yeah, I'm saving up for the High Times MediCup in June, so I figure if there is any place to haggle with an LED dealer, or any pot or grow product, it's with the people who own/represent the company as these conventions. It's my plan to go with a big wad of cash and make my presence known the first day...you know, ask a lot of questions, act real interested, be well informed about the topic...and the second half of the second day, I move in for the kill and see which LED provider will cut me the sweetest deal, seeing as they know I'm interested...lol...I dunno, if I get a good enough deal, I might walk away with a new grow light! Or I'll drop that wad on a portable AC unit and some HID lighting...Maybe a vaporizer or some other weed goodies/gadgets...Or just take my girl out for a nice couple of nights on the town in San Francisco...Should be fun. Might just get stoned, wander around for an hour and leave...lol...Anyway, been intrigued by LED's for a while now, and I'm familiar with your nugs, so I know there is something to 'em. Can't wait to see what your new light does for ya!

would be perfect for my tent!!
also check out panels from http://ledgrowlightsdirect.com/ and also Blackstar panels from gotham hydroponics.... us, the east coasters can appriciate gothom because they ship from NY. thier 240W model draws 183W at the plug.

Makes me want to go LED now...not too much more expensive than hps and mh combo anyway.
you're correct, match quality with quality you would have to buy a high end 400W HPS/MH bulbs, digital ballast, reflector, cool tube. and pay the electric bill, and replace the bulbs every year or two. A $500 LED light that lasts for 12 years minimum and only uses 180W doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. If you could shell out $700 GLH makes a 290W version that easily covers a 4 x 4 foot area.

Man all those things sound great to dump cash on.... lights, the girlfriend, vaporizer... any of that sounds great!!!! i used to travel alot in my old job and i got to go to san fran quite often! i liked the entire area SF, santa clara, san jose, all great places!! lots of fun things to do there! vaporizers are just as important to me as my LED lights... spent more on my first vape than i did on my first LED!!!! look for ISIS-1, Blackstar, or GLH... or just wait a couple months and keep an eye on my grow with a quality light instead of my cheapo... Plus i will be vegging with my current LED so I'm excited to see how it does since that panel is actually designed to veg and not flower.

Stoney, great info and pics and everything! Kinda stoned but I wanted to say that 180w led probably puts out less heat than a 180w hps would but is as efficient light wise as a 400w hps. So you also save in temp control, fan wattage, etc, right? Meta, I'll also be on alert for a good deal!

Dude, are you kidding me? You're my partner in crime at this MediCup...lol...My gf doesn't care about growing, she just likes smoking...haha...so who else is gonna scope out the booths with me? I'm always in the market for a good deal, and I'm planning on coming up with a wad of cash to spend, so i'm looking forward to it. I love shopping! haha

thanks dude!! yea, you're correct, In fact, i didn't need my large exhaust fan until i installed the CFL's. I may have to slow it down now or even get a smaller one. I am so excited for the new light and the new seeds!!! i wonder which one will get here first?!?!?! my guess is the seeds!

a couple other pros and cons on LED's: lower heat also means a much lower risk of bugs and lower heat also means lower humidity so less chance for mold.... downsides: with low heat the soil doesn't dry out as fast so there is less opportunity to feed with nutes (a small fan in the soil pointing up fixes this). the LED fucks with your eyes when you look at the plants... probably bad for you! it's best to have a cfl or two on when looking at them... the white light balances it out enough that it doesn't affect your eyesight. more food for thought....

hey bud, That is a cool light you have there. I am not that familiar with that manufacturer. I wonder why the big light (the one you have) is a 5 year warranty and the smaller light is only a 3 year?!?!?! that seems odd to me.... either back all your products or don't.

It also concerns me how they get a 330 watt draw from a panel that appears to only have 50 diodes in it... considering there are no diodes in the world that operate at 100% draw (they would burn out in seconds) most lights I've seen use about 50% power. so 50 diodes drawing 330 watts at 50% would make them 13 watt diodes!!! something doesn't add up there to me.

but if it was me with the $1500, i think i would buy three lights like my new one, or a couple 357's, instead of one big one like that. the footprint would be much larger that way plus you would get way more PAR for your buck!!! and if one light should break you have two others to back you up.... one large light fails and your screwed!

don't get me wrong dude, I'm not doubting your panel at all! that is an awesome gift!!!!!! how many plants are you growing with it?
Rep for hangin' and postin'!!
