whats up fellow growers I was just wondering im growing some purple diesel from seed they are 34 days into switch 12/12 they are doing fine but my question is this they are from the same plant and my smallest girl is growing purple buds which I understand but why are the leafs turning purple as well my other plants are not doing this what exactly is the reason for the purple and whats the diff between them and regular green leafs

From seed will display different phenotypes. Suspect this explains your difference.

yea see I read a little about that and that's what I chalked it up as just wanted some diff inputs lol but do the leafs hold any diff besides just color

just a diff phenotype like bugeye said, dont worry yourself as long as the plant appears healthy, purple leaves is definitely not a bad thing. shes gonna be fruity and skunky, get ready to reek the room up, post some pictures im excited to see how these look.

haha yea Im deff ready to see what she brings me and I tried taking some pics but the purple is hard to tell from pic right now but ill deff post when they are full purple the last pic is of her sister so you can see that she doesn't have any purple

are you growing on hydro or soil? CFLs or LEDS? etc etc. some details would be awesome :lol:

You need more light penetration for one, they dont appear very perky from the current available light. You would appreciate the yield from these plants more if you had a 400-600w metal halide in there, but understandable that money is always an issue (trust me im broke as a joke u aint gotta tell me hahaa)

funny you say that im actually waiting for my new light to come should be here by Tuesday and yea money becomes a issue with the crazy things life throws at us lol and this is really just a experiment grow its my 1st so im not pushing 2 much know what I mean personal use so a couple plants works lol my taller one I actually think is going to be a decent yield 4 ft tall I would hope I get decent lol

sorry I didn't see your 1st response lol im a little irie right now lol anyway yea soil its a MG seed starter they have been in there since seed and haven't had any problems um the strain is purple diesel one of my favs and at the moment I have 2 ladies in flower like 34 days about they vegd for a month right now they are under 2 t5's new lights get here Tuesday 2 Compact Fluorescent Grow Light Bulb 125W ill probley flower about 10 weeks depending

I am also growing a purple diesel in ogranic miracle grow soil i have not used nutes on her but she is also turning very purple this is day 37 of veg albout to make switch

Yeah no prob she is currently under 1 125w cfl 4 26w cfls and a 14w cfl i have been tying her down a little recently and just brought pure blend pro bloom for soil

nice man I started a little LST on my taller girl while she was in veg and when I switched she was 12" now she just shy of 4 ft haha its crazy man the 1st pic is of my taller one

Today will be the first day of 12/12 im not to sure of her height id say shes around a 1 "1/2 feet tall she also began to show preflowers

i heard they turn more purple when stressed, this one guy said how to turn your buds more purple was to water them freezing cold water and then next time water with warm water a week before harvest to mildly stress them, don't know if that's true,, i think he was drunk
