Mine has been going storng for a year... same model.
as long as you don;t put heavy enogh stuff on there to damage the sensor, its fine.
Actualy even the sensor is quite tough, sometimes I'll make a lid out of something light to weigh bigger stuff after reseting the scale including the platform to 0... in other words weighing well in excess of the scale max limit when everythign is combined.. and its still pretty accurate.
