hello, im having heat issues in my little grow cab. Im testing the temps before i put plants in it and right now the temperature at the bottom of the cabinet stays high 70's to low 80's. But when the thermometer was moved only halfway to the lights, the temp was about 95. I was hoping to have the tops of my plants much closer to the lights. I dont know how much cooler i can make it at this point the best i can do is add a little more exhaust. Can I grow plants in a space like this?

Dim's and a pic would help. Do you have any ventilation? Your thermometer should be at the same height as the canopy of your plants to get the correct temp buddy. Cheers

That much temp difference suggests you need to move air around more, or you have some very hot lights.

Looks like a nice little setup you have there buddy, but instead of the little computer fan you have going i'd personally put a larger one, at least twice as big. You should be able to grow a decent amount in there, I've grown in some real tight spots before and achieved some pretty good yields :D Best of luck. Cheers

Best bet is to get a small fan in there with some oomph. PC fans are great but you can pick up a 4" oscillating fan from Walmart for like $6-$7 that can get a lot more air moved around as well as thicken up your stems fairly well. What kind of CFM rating you have on your exhaust as the exhaust speed influences your air induction speed and more air equals cooler temps. A buddy of mine also checks his temps at random points in the room so you can get a much better ambient temperature. If you are right under the lights you wont get the same reading as a shaded area so you might not be as bad with a fan in there cooling it all down better.

If I add ore intake holes at the top or the middle would that help cool things down up top? I think i'll be needing more intake holes anyways, just thought it might help if they were higher...

Personally i have an intake at bottom and middle-ish of the cab. i put an on/off switch on the middle one and use it as needed. The middle intake is a large PC fan.
