This Is What A Drug War Looks Like When It's Dying

(from TokeofTheTown)

(my note- Michele Leonhart is a Bush-era holdover who was approved by President Obama to run the DEA...remember that, Google it if you want)
(also, note Sen Polis from CO grilling Leonhart with tough questions. Where are the rest of the dickless senators? Hiding or in denial, of course)

Drug Enforcement Administration Director Michele Leonhart's recent testimony during an oversight hearing before Congress is very notable for a couple of reasons.

The first and most obvious is Leonhart's deep cluelessness -- whether real or (very convincingly) feigned -- about the effects of marijuana, the effects of federal drug policy and, particularly, the impact of federal marijuana policy on people's lives.

Leonhard flat-out refused to admit that marijuana is any different than heroin, meth, or cocaine, and simply avoided directly addressing the hard questions put to her by Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) and Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.)

The second, and ultimately more important reason her testimony is notable, is that this is what the Drug War looks like when it's dying.

The cruel absurdities of U.S. federal drug policy are out in the open for everyone to see; that genie can't be put back into the bottle. The days of marijuana being treated as if it's a dangerous substance like hard drugs are numbered.

The cat's out of the bag.

What a bunch of BULLSHIT. I love the fact that they called time right when the bitch was about to contradict her own statement so the couldn't record her sounding like an idiot.

I wish you were right , but I am not so sure about the war ending...A lot of marijuana laws are going backwards in some places...even being broke does not seem to stop or slow down these dumb greedy fucks that call the shots.

BUMP...because EVERYONE needs to watch those videos and see what inept, corrupt and pathetic losers we have in charge of most govt offices! At least Sens Cohen and Polis 'get it' they know what's going on. They know Soon, others WILL KNOW. Time to cut the crap, trim the fat and get our COUNTRY BACK!

I just saw this today and am sending our dear president an email, for real as I email him regularly when I see this type stupidity in our government. It may not do any good but it makes me feel better and I want them to know that most people are not so stupid as to not know this is a con. She can't be that stupid. Obama knows better and I will remind him of that.

Two steps forward, one step back. Michigan's been backsliding, Florida has imposed harsher penalties for growing, Oklahoma just raised their penalties for everything mj-related, Montana largely repealed mmj...

Let's hope 2012 is a big swing in the other direction. With legalization on multiple ballots, it very well could be.

Yeah all this stuff that is goin on with the DEA raids on MMJ dispensaries is probably because its election time right now so MMJ can be a good topic to get these pieces of shit more votes come November. That and if our govt was really smart they would simply legalize it and start growing fields of herb, its only the largest cash crop in the world, or pretty close to it, isn't it? But the problem with that is if they do that then they won't be able to argue and buying MJ supports terrorists, I mean if that is the truth then wouldn't it be best to take away one of their money makers by letting ppl grow it.

I've never seen someone get dismantled so badly in my life, she tries to regain her composure by repeating answers but it's too late. She's all flustered and you can see that she just really can not be bothered with any more mmj questions. Priceless footage.

The dumb greedy fucks are not broke -- where do you think the money is going? They got a slick system -- doesn't really matter which side your for or against as long as you're for or against one of'em.
