You know that Mitt was deeked by the Spanish language network. Their artists do the make up. So you think that was Mitts idea. How under-informed can you get. That is how TV works, unless you are in a stupid partisan fantasy.

In SPF, the Dear Leader walks on water, while the challenger is laughed at, for whatever made up reason, that comes along.

A study in troubled thinking. "the polls don't show what we know in our guts must be right. The polls don't show romney winning and we intuit that he must certainly be"

so

The polls (all of them, even the FOX poll) must be... wrong. Here, We'll fix this for you. We will change reality to conform with our beliefs.

Are you getting this Beenthere?

(they claim that there are "too many" Dems being canvased) Now, never mind that many of these pollsters make their living being as accurate as possible in their numbers - a poll that does not reflect reality doesn't get referenced, if it doesn't get referenced the organization doing the polling doesn't work anymore. Just as the right is intent on making the news say what it wants the news to say, making science say what it wants science to say, making the Bible say what it wants it to say, now they are actually "re-balancing" numbers.

I'd laugh if it wasn't so intensely sad for them.

Laugh all you want. Most of the pollsters are weighting the election based on 2008. In that election the turnout for young voters, blacks, latino's was pretty heavy. It was alot heavier than normal elections.

This upcoming election does not reflect the same turnout as the republican base seems stirred up and the democratic base seems less so.

One thing you may also want to be aware of is these pollsters get PAID to conduct polls. And the person PAYING them is in many cases interested in a certain outcome. Therefore, making the client happy is also an objective of the pollsters.

Basically, all the polls right now are crap anyway. It wont get real until about mid October when the pollsters actually have to justify their polls for the next go around.

And the only true poll is on election day anyway.

What happens is the thumb suckers won't turn out. They have been bummed about Gitmo and the rest of the agenda failing. Now they see us giving it away and the Mid-east policy is a Sham, and he's in bed with Unions, and so, the Mob. Now anyone, not partisan blind and dumb can see we are appeasing again. And the jobs situation is worse.

Suck thumb, don't vote for Mitt. Don't vote at all.

I'll say again you baby partisans will shit your pants in dismay, if Mitt is elected. Yet, I will continue to be a successful, non-plussed salaryman if Obama wins.

It doesn't matter in the least bit what the polls show. Romney is still going to be the candidate, he ain't changing his political views, he isn't going to "move to the middle" any more than Obama is going to stop being a progressive douchebag.

The MSM will do what it always does, try to convince Conservatives there is no hope and to stay home, the same as they have done in years when Republicans have won. They will endlessly hammer the opposition on any perceived weakness (even if it's entirely fictitious) and provide blatant cover for their candidate. Everyone knows this is the case and that's why the media is at an all-time low in trustworthiness.

I'm voting for the Conservative and none of the laughable bullshit posted on this forum will change that. The progressive cretins are going to vote for Obama, no matter what. No one is changing anyone's mind on here, it's nothing more than mental masturbation. We'll find out in November if the American public has any common sense left or if they vote for Obama.

I see, so FOX paid for a poll and it got numbers it didn't like
(so much so that they didn't much play the results).

No, pollsters tend to do their best to reflect reality because that is what they are paid for and contrarty to common belief, they don't just pick numbers out of an old hat. Even what you are saying exemplifies my statement. Republicans would rather be lied to and if you are correct are paying to be lied to.

Not the point - This is not about Romney changing his political views (and if you don't think he has been changing them.... over and over and over again then you haven't been paying attention). This is about his failure to convince folks that his current viewpoint is the wisest course for voters.

You seem like all other conservatives, you believe that you are "different". That you alone cannot be swayed by that horrible lying cheating MSM but many of your brethren will be.

And again, my original premise seems to be correct - conservatives are perfectly willing to either change their perceptions of reality, or ignore objective reality - "why the polls don't mean shit" - right?

You see, once you remove all the dead people, animals, under-age, multiple "one person" voters, illegals, etc.......the numbers skew towards Republicans. Funny how you guys complain though- a lot of the Dem's recent polls, taken from likely voters with up to 6% more Dems them Republicans in the survey- and no one says anything about that. Next weeks debates will be the true beginning of the countdown to the election- and the only thing that really matters. Numerous times one side or the other has had a substantial lead and after the debates, the elections were won by the opposite side. AND remember this- with all the distractions, the ECONOMY has always decided the presidential election. No matter what the polls state, it will come down to that. And we all know the U.S. is in trouble. Next year, with inflation, higher taxes, higher gas prices, higher medical ins., etc.- we're all gonna get fucked- no matter who is president.

everyone pays for polls everyone reports the agenda of their editorial board. IAC, my statistics will trump yours, any day....statistically speaking, of course. (sample size, not reported, not valid in every state your mileage will vary)

Um.. dead people and animals are rarely polled, usually don't have phones and are not "likely voters".

When there are "up to 6 percent more Dems" it is probably because the Region Polled has more Dems in it then Republicans. In other words, there are rarely parities in given geological areas between dems and republicans - this sort of has an effect on any reflection of reality.

I think that many conservatives have a misundersanding of what a poll is and certainly they have no concept of how it works or how accurate a representative sample can be. Polls are not indicators of who will win in the election, only how the opinions of the people are at the point in time of the poll.

"no matter what the polls state" is the sort of thing that many people use when the polls aren't going their way. Of course we could find that Republican voter suppression has an effect and Romney could win even though his numbers are light.

Why ya gotta throw stones at "conservatives," partisan? You haughtily suggest that your side is mo' better.

It called "damning with faint praise" "...many conservatives have a misunderstanding..."

But, not All, maybe...faint praise indeed. Of course the progressives or liberals, the Mr. Ostrich types, by other names, are so savvy about what polls truly mean?

My "side" ever so rarely attempts to alter their perceptions of reality in order to make themselves feel better about bad polling numbers. I don't want a president who wants to only hear goodness and light, who is not willing or able to take on harsh realities - - - like bad poll numbers.
