Thinking I want to join the revolution...

After doing hours of countless research it seems everything I know about life is a lie lol. But seriously I'm quite impressed with some of you vert growers. I want another lb dammit!!

So here's what I'm thinking... 8 plant vertical scrog. On 18"x24"x72" freestanding wire shelves with castors. 4 shelving units total with 2 shelves each. 2 plants per unit. 1 per shelf. Hardware cloth or something zip-tied to the front of the units for training. (2) 600w hps stacked in the middle.

What do you think? I envision it like this.... the perspective is all messed up but I think you get the idea. What do you masters of the jungle think?

72" seems a bit tall but I've never grown in layers like this. 50 or 60inches seems more appropriate but it depends on how far apart the lights are. Also, the bottom plants tops can grow into/next to the plant above's bottom creating (hopefully) an even vertical canopy. @Dr.D81 has some experience with this.

I'm subbed! Congrats!

Thanks for all your input Frog. The 72" just seems to be a standard size around here. Not sure I'm going to jump on this right away, still got to finish my current girls and crunch some more numbers.

Why not just use fencing instead of dicking around with shelves or whatever?

No need to recreate the wheel here. Hang bulb, surround by plants...

I would attach fencing to the front of the shelving unit between the plants and bulbs for training. The shelving would give me my 2 levels for the 2 bulbs and with the shelving units on wheels it would be easy maintenance in regards to training and growth.

That's good you have the height. Use it to your advantage.
