I feel like my input is especially credible on this subject. I was born and raised in the Southeast (Pensacola, Florida). I spent 4 years of my childhood just over the state line in Baldwin County, Alabama (Robertsdale area, Elsanor to be specific). I moved to the Seattle area when I turned 18 (very similar to Portland, similar cannabis laws too), and I have lived here now for 6 years. The rain here was tough to get used to at first, and if life takes a downward turn, you really start to feel the dark, depressing atmosphere. That being said, I could never move away from the Pacific Northwest (except maybe for SoCal :) ). I LOVE this area, I've been to Portland a few times......AND LOVED IT. You can order a steak in a strip club there.....it's awesome. And I'm not one for strip clubs usually. The cost of living is a bit higher here, but the base pay corresponds with that quite nicely. I am a high school dropout with a GED and I make $16/hour. It's not a fortune, but it's good, and finding a job here hasn't been too hard.

Not unlike your state we have a lot of clucks here too but we also have a liberal way of life that trickles down to even the crackheads. Oregon is an amazing state! From Portland your an hour from the coast,an hour from world class riding on skis or a snowboard on mt.hood,an hour and a half from the desert etc. There is Awsome fishing, hunting, moutain biking, best skateparks on the planet, great local produce,Awsome places to eat, tons of titty bars, and a thriving med scene that isn't based around money! In my years on this planet I have been to many states in the good ol' USA and lived in many of them. Oregon is where I was born and it is where I will take my last breath,I love it here! Pack your shit and come see the trees man

:DThat's why ya send them all to Portland man
na come on over to coos bay. they weather is way warmer then portland and eugene this time of year... that is if you can handle a little bit of rain (heavy mist) and wind..

Seems to be the thing to do. Funny we're all from around the same area and migrating toward the same place. (I'm from Mobile, AL staying in Foley) Buddy of mine has degenerative disc disease and is originally from Tacoma but has family in Portland. Looking like he's gonna get his SSDI backpay and we're thinking it'll be here sometime shortly after the first. Soon as, we're out of here. Pretty psyched
