So issues in the hood last night and my neighbor, in her angry fast speaking voice says,

"blah blah blah I know your're growin weed in the basement, my son told me that, blah blah blah"

So as my stomach falls down my leg into my shoe and my face is flushed with what I can only imagine as the reddest of red, I stutter a "wha, no no" before she is onto the next topic. She seems to skim right over that....

Then later even apologized to me for yelling and carrying on. Made no mention of the accusation she has just hurtled at me about an hour earlier. We talked out front about the neighborhood and how it was bad before with "bad drugs" (something she said so perhaps she isn't anti-pot) and whatnot.

But I'm fucked!! I moved into a this place only able to afford it if I supplemented my income. I am on week 5 of 9 and am thinking I should roll the dice....finish this and then be done.

I just needed somewhere to vent. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I dont get how the fuck he knew.....or maybe it was just a hunch he had???? You smell nothing when you come inside....but there is a lil' noise from my fan. I don't get it. She seems like an old hippie chick too. Her son had dreads to his butt last I saw him a few months ago.....so he knows ya know but still.

Chances are that she doesn't care as long as ur a good quiet neighbour. Sometimes I think mine know but they make more noise than me and have a dog, plus their young and always pleasant. It's practically legal here tho. As for 'HER', like u said u haven't been there long so u need to try to suss out what she's like with the other neighbours, ie is she a gossip etc...

I would watch the odor control big time, even if u are on the top floor. Don't cut ur losses. Ride it out and wait b4 u start again. Maybe do less next time so u can sleep at night.

You have to be pleasant with her but more importantly - YOU NEED TO FIND OUT HOW THIS INFO HAS LEAKED TO HER AND QUESTION SOMEONE ELSE !!

Watch this kid - looks like u may get robbed. No-one likes a rat in the building - capable of anything. Talk is cheap - u need to speak to him !!

My issue is that it surely isn't close to being legal where I live. I think after this is done, and cleaned up.....Ima go talk with her and ask exactly how it was known, deny it, say Im just a smoker

It prob won't be her that grasses you up, more like one of the other neighbours which is why u need to see how she is with the others. If she goes off on these rampant verbal fits of anger then she could come out with anything.

If u have a normal routine and you go out to work everyday then she will see this. Don't have friends coming and going either - this looks hot - even if its not.

I've had my property for over a year and the landlords office is 50 metres from the front downstairs main door !! I pay my rent on time, keep it looking nice from outside - ie pretty flowers on the balcony etc . He's not getting in, no reason to.

Don't act suspect in front of these neighbours, they don't know for sure remember, they just think it for now ....

You friend are a calm voice of reason I need to listen to. I do have a full time job and go to work everyday. I keep the yard nice and all that. I guess I just need to buckle down these next 4-5 weeks and be on top of all my shit.

I mean, lets say she does rat me out.....I'd imagine it would take a few weeks for the fuzz to mount a case anyway, yes? I do'nt really know just hoping! By then I'd be done.

My only other issue is the roughly 20 contractor trash bags full of shit I need to throw out.......that won't look sketchy huh? Sheesh. If I make that the last thing I do, then it's gone. I guess it would work.

He isn't a boy, he is most likely in his late 20's. He doesn't live there but visits with his son, her assumed granddaughter. Yes, yes they have power over me w/o a doubt! How would you suppose I take this power back??

She won't rat on you unless she knows for sure - think about it from her perspective - she'd look stupid for wasting police time so she wouldn't unless she knew definitely and even then she may not.

Here's what I do for the rubbish trip.

Always use plain black bags - everyone has them. Don't use the same bin as u usually do. Even if this means driving a block or 2. Go at night. My landlord isn't at the office after 6pm and less people use the stairwell at night.Yes people put the bins out at night, not at 1am in the morning tho !! 20 contractor bags huh?? Don't let them pile up, small trips often but different bins are better. I use around 3 or 4 and it's even practically legal here. No point in advertising tho. You need them out so start today when it gets dark and try to do 4 or 5 of them in 2 trips to different bins.They can smell, carry rot and insects and most importantly are evidence against you !!! NEVER USE UR NORMAL BIN - ALWAYS KEEP A BIO BIN - no receipts or house letters can get mixed up.

Buy a plug in air freshener for next to the front door. We have a cleaner do the stairs every week so I turn it on the night b4 - just in case.

When u harvest, wash out that pot ASAP as if it never even used. This is better than having a load pile up as evidence. (Just in case and to help u sleep).

If u have a panic attack again or something happens, feel free to contact me. I even had a flooding in my flat in the beginning and the landlord was standing 2 metres from the room. I trust my equipment a lot !! Was a bit scary though ! Luckily, now I have grow friends right round the corner and they have cars - they'd help me if there was an emergency. You always need a back up plan!

I do hav a trash bag in the basement I use just for that, no house stuff goes in there. Im tryin' to be on top of it!

There must be a reason they suspect. Is the blind/ shutters always down on that room? Any light leaking outside? Fan noisy ? If u answer 'no' to these then the rest is down to ur acting skills now !!! Good luck and try to keep calm. Panicking never helped anyone. Head high, shoulder back, off u go !!
