Because you can estimate your dry weight based off the wet weight. It usually ends up always being about a 65-70% loss in weight when dried, but that takes time. That's why you weigh wet, to know what you have weeks before it's ready.

Then obviously weigh again when it's dry, because it's so satisfying lol
thats the first ive heard, do you weigh your branches with the weed? iv done multiple grows and never once weighed wet weed, i dont see much point imo but each to their own.

so your saying if i had 1kg wet weight, id have 300 grams dry?

I chop the stems, separate buds at the base, weigh them, and dry the buds on one of those multi level hanging drying racks. You'll always have a good idea of what you'll end up with
