Thermoflo Blackened Ducting or DIY Light Baffle?

I have adjacent veg and flowering rooms that run both lights off a single duct. The duct runs from outside, though a 250W cool tube, then through the wall to the next room to a 400w air-cooled hood before hitting the fan and venting outside. My fan is a 333cfm S&P silent inline.

I have had some problems with light leaking from the cool tube and through the ventilation hose to my flowering light. I have found two potential solutions, and would like some advice on which I should go with.

1 - Run some ThermoFlo 2000SR ducting between the lights. There are a couple 90 degree bends between the lights, which would hopefully kill the leak. Cost $40. Advantage: simple. Disadvantage: relatively costly.

2 - Build a light baffle box out of a plastic bin. Line it with flocking or felt on the inside and mount it to the side of my light hood. Cost ~$20. Advantage: cheap and I could tinker with it for best performance. Disadvantage: clunky, may cause more pressure drop.

I have no idea which one would be more effective. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

I'm also venting 2 tents with one fan and filter. I took a 10 gal tote and run the duct from both tents to it. I've got my carbon filter inside tote with fan ducted to oitside of tote pulling air out. Then I have it ducted outside.
Been working great so far. Just an idea.

Nice alternative. Unfortunately, the layout of my rooms would make this option less desirable for me (I'm trying to work with just one air intake for both lights). Your layout was something that I hadn't even considered though, so thanks!
