She's even going to help. Well, been doing a lot of reading the last month or so and all the info on this site seems to good to be true. Got my seeds,Skunk1.fox farm soil, ph test kit and some flor and cfl for a closet thats 2x8x6, and the temp around 75-80. Looking to get the 400 or 250 hps with the mh conversion bulb. What do you guys recommend, and how much higher will my temp get?

Cool! I had to convince my wife to let me too. Took years. The final straw was when I gave her an aproximate profit and promised to spend the first few crops on her. Can't wait to flip the switch!

From everything I've heard, you're gonna love that FoxFarm soil. I assume it's Ocean Forest?

I've heard nothing but good things about that soil (and FoxFarm's other main soil as well)... Magic stuff. I'd recommend getting some basic nutrient supplies from their soil line. At the very least, get Grow Big and one of their two nutrients for blooming. I've only used Grow Big, but man, does it work. You can even use the hydroponic stuff, if you're careful.

Thanks for the info guys, the Fox Farm i got is "Happy Frog" the guy a the hydro store suggested it. My plants are week old, can i start using the Grow Big yet?

I had to convince my wife too, well the first two times I was on a mission and she was like W/E. Now this time she was saying please do and actually supported me. I am diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders and when she sees me growing she notices a different me. And after the harvest as well, obviously. I usually only grow once a year during the winter because that's when my clinical disorder really kicks in. Less sun, always inside etc... I'm telling you, I wish I had a license to grow so I wouldn't be a paranoid.

Anyhow, congrats and good luck to you with your grow. Kiss your wife for understanding and being by your side through this!

Foxfarm is the way to go for the soils, just wait 3-4 weeks before feeding it again.

Just don't fight with her...

My wife always go to my grow room and threatens to hurt my babies until I apologize.

3-4 Weeks thats how old mine are and I'm now putting them into flowering because ABS said that there ready to go NOW! I thought that they where average and getting ready for me to clone but any ways I started with nuts in the soil from seed, and a week later i was feeding kinda heavy for a young plant but with the right Lights HPS or MH like your going to get & the right Temp veg if you can 65-90 your plants are going to need to feed earlier and way more.

Just out of curiosity how many of you have tried several soils and noticed a significant difference. It just seems set in stone that you use fox farms soil and most people recommend it without having tried anything else just because it was what was recommended to them.

My girlfriend said yes it took like 6 months but she finally let me spin her around and put my....oh wait you mean to grow yeah ummm yes on that too.

I think most newbie's just buy foxfarm soil and stick to it and then reccomend it to other new commers when they themselve's have only used 1 type of soil.

Lets see I've Tried fox farm Miracle no gro organic Scotts: And yes ff does the best outa the ones I've tried, MGO did alright but when I feed my plants they wouldn't respond well (nut burn), and since I can get ff organic soil i use it, and the plants love it with lots of plite, very tired, it helps with good root development (but you know that).
