Now the weed nerd cup would be worth the recognition-BUT it should also carry with it a responsibility code in compliance with tga accepted standards,sort of like being miss usa -its not all glamour -lots of work spreading word and good deeds ....maintain good karma ....dont do felonious things like chase people with tire irons ...for instance

The cannabis cup without the awards would be cool. Then it would just be a big canna swap meet!

Awards for things like cannabis are so subjective anyway. What I think is the best may not be what you think is the best. I think any kind of awards need to be judged or voted on by many many people, not just a handful of so called or self appointed experts. A People's Choice Award.

Hmmm.... How about The TGA 1st Annual Canna Swap Meet and People's Choice Awards. All voting done by attendees, and all entrants must have samples available for judges.

Just thinking out loud here. Not sure if it's a good idea. :)

May I suggest the Pismo Beach Clam Festival in October? My family went there every year when I was a kid and it is a great party atmosphere already! State beach camping, sand dunes, I am not sure whether you can still drive on the beach. Great town, great vibe, centrally located in CA. Camp or stay in hotels or drive there for the day. Many options. October can be warm or cold at the beach (that is what makes it fun :) )

We would always get a big site and then friends would just show up and pitch a tent or park a trailer...

yeah, fuck the awards and competition ....just a big family reunion/swap meet/show and tell....good tunes, good food and drink, etc......someplace beautiful....
....perhaps the core nerds can teach the SOD itinerary in a scheduled demo model where nerds to be can bob in and out based on what they want to see, (like in one tent Hash-making....another super soil etc.)...........and the Big nerd can relax and be the gracious host......kind of like a country fair.....
.....nerds could bring items to donate to a raffle/auction table, to raise some funds to give away.....auctions can be fun as fuck!....just imagine all the handmade weed nerd gear to bid on!...

Never mind about the Denver cup - it is in a sketchy area. I thought they would get a real convention center for the Denver cup. FAIL!

I am still high from this weekend! Thanks Subcool and all of the weed neerds that came out and rocked the San Berdu cup!
