I just read an article that...well...is disturbing, but I expected this. CDC officials are reporting about this flu that has killed like 60 people so far in Mexico & has found it's way into the U.S. & sickened a few people in California & Texas. I can't believe this. I'm not worried, but damn this is un-fuckin' real. So much for conspriacy theory...it's now reality.

You know how many Viral outbreaks there has been like this is just the past 30 yrs?? This is nothing new, different viral strains stay dormant for periods of time until the right conditions occur for them to spread again, (example: drought/wet cycles where rat populations soar). Also some viral outbreak are limited due to climate conditions. So they happen alot in all over the world just dont hear much about the one that likely wont effect where you live. As far as 60 ppl dyin in mexico from it, that doesnt worry me to much as the quality of living and healthcare is much less than here so the death toll will be higher. 60 out of the countless number of actual infected is probally a pretty low number. Im in texas so ill let you know if it makes it my way lol!.... but conspriacy not so much another natural outbreak not unlike the millions before little more likely.

60 people in a very short period of time. I'm not in an uproar just throwing information out there. People have been talking about this H5N1 virus for awhile. The strain they are onto is I believe a H1N1 virus...in the same family & "they" are concerned it could morph into a human to human strain or worse airborne. I'm just saying it's kinda strange hearing about this shit at this particular time. I'm also aware of the thousands of outbreaks in the past 30 years, but I don't feel like this one is a natural occurence. I don't think the government is the root of it either, but someone or something is in my opinion.

It's called an immune system. These outbreaks don't scare me because I'm not a germophobe.I get dirty. I don't run out and get every new vaccine they put out there. I don't go to the doctor unless I can't fix the problem on my own.I don't use antibiotics unless they are absolutely needed.People are weakening themselves by not allowing their body to fight invaders on its own.

The H5N1 virus is the Influenza A virus "spanish Flu" a variant of the H1N1. The swine influenza virus is just another strain. They are all subtypes, different strains that have branched off. Same as the bird flu (avian influenza). With so many strains and constantly mutating amino acids in them, a strain of influenza is bound to make its way back to infecting humans, thats what virus do. We have known this would happen and have been waiting for it, its always just a matter of time. Difference is now we can better combat types on influenza. Is that to say that a pandemic(they usually occur every 20yrs) wont take some lives with it. No, of course lives will be lost with a new virus, but will it be like the 50-100 million lost in the spanish flu? No... it wont be that bad. The only thing at fault here for this is nature... no government, no god or devil, no higher power or man or anything of the sort.

I agree with you stoney, i dont even take tylenol. People would be amazed what our body's are capable of. Dont get me wrong some medications have their place and time. People ask me why dont you ever get sick or blah blah. I tell em the truth, no antibotic, no flu shots, pretty much for me if it isnt a natural food or something its not going in my body. Couldn't tell ya last time I was sick.

I take pills..if they're needed. But I prefer to use herbs to heal myself if I can.

Nice input SikSol...that's a pretty solid observation. If they offer a vaccination to people would you take it as a precaution? Do think it would be wise for people to take the shot? I wouldn't take the shot. I don't believe in that stuff. It's still strange for it to pop up now to me .

Well the strangness of it just now "popping up" to me personally comes from the fact that is happening in your life time. Just like every generation thinks that their time is the end of the world because they see things that repeat throughout history such as natural disasters, war, plagues etc. as always though these events come and go and we as a species are still here. So these things tend to catch us off guard in a "I cant believe this is happening now" type fashion even though we can look back through history and be fairly confident that these events will indeed happen sometime in our lifetimes. Just my opinion on that though

As far as if I would take the shot?? Yes.. even though I have faith in my immune system you immune system is not likely to be prepared to combat something it has never come into contact with before. A vaccination is simply a small dosage of the virus that allow your immune system to learn its enemy's ways develop a tactic and defeat it, that way when you immune system encounters the virus for the first "real" time it is prepared and can quickly dispatch the virus.

This is just the start of things to come. Im under the impresssion that is a combo of bird flu, the human strain, and swine flu which sounds pretty nasty to me. The combination of people over-medicating, antibiotics, and the testing of different diseases im sure has something to do with it. People are so over doing it. Even with things like dial antibacterial hand soap disease is becoming more resistant.

Virus's will always find another way to infect us like any other living organism they evolve and mutate to better suite their survival needs they will without a doubt find a way to infect us eventually, and our body's will always find a way to fight them. I do believe that people in this day in time do in fact over medicate and become so germaphobic that they are actually increasing their risk of serious complications when infact they are infected by a virus. You have to allow your body to naturally develop its immune system. That said though, if a new virus does come along that our body's have never encountered it would be in your best intrest to get vaccinated. Even if you have a outstanding immune system your body is not likely to have a easy time fighting off something it has never encountered before especially if it is a very evolved strain of a dangerous virus such as influenza.

Getting flu shots or using antibiotics does not make your immune system weaker. Not in the slightest.

All very nice input...thanx for your viewpoints everyone! SikSol what do you think about that whole 2012 Mayan ordeal? Do you have an opinion on pole shift? I'm just curious. Do you believe the poles shifted abruptly in the past? Will this repeat also?

I know you didnt ask for my opinion, but I'll give it anyway. There is no such thing as prophecies, precognition, magic, or anything mystical. These are all just things that you would like to believe in.

Do you have the proof? I like discussing these things for probably the same reason people like discussing religion...can't be disproven yet.
