I don't know how many of you gamers out there have been anticipating this game as much as I have, but I can not wait for this! As some of you may know, I am a huge star wars fan, always have been! This game will be the tits!

Friend of mine (who unfortunately lives 3 hours away) got into beta last weekend. It seems they are randomly choosing people to test it for 3 days here and there. Prolly every weekend or so. I wasn't able to get up there and check it out, but he said it looked pretty solid! Anyone else get into beta?

My buddy has been testing for at least a month now. He signed up years ago while playing SWG.

Kind of sad to see it go. I was on swg for a while a long time ago. Feels like accidenty wiping out a memery card or something.

But out with the old in with the new. I'll pick this up at some point..

Fo sho, SWG was pretty cool. I spent most of my time in space doing quests up there and building my space ship. But I haven't played that in YEARS! I've been looking at this game for a long time, I signed up for testing as soon as it came available and haven't been chosen :( Yer friend is lucky! I want this game out already. But teasing us for a long time lol.

Wasn't the original Star Wars MMO lame because everyone would just work their way into being Jedi knights and all the other classes were just ignored? I wonder how they solved that problem?

I was a big WoW player for a long time, I have an old school HWL Rogue I got into the 2200+ range... I quit first season of Cata but WoW is still the best MMO hands down IMHO.

I think you need to be in the 2600+ range now

haha yeah fucking ratings inflate, I figured 2200 was nothing by now... Just checked AJ - teams are nearing 3200 now? lol...

I remember back in s3/s4 when 2200 was solid glad, I could only muster 2k or so at the time no shoulders(was 2050 if I remember right). :( I also didn't get to kill Illidan before 3.0, which made me sad cuz I was "Rogue class leader" in my guild at the time... Glaives :(

I still have every peice of lvl 60 HWL gear though in my bank :D

At any rate, I quit cuz I couldn't find any competant arena partners. :(

I'm not a pvp fan, im all about pve. and yah my hunter is like 3070 or somewhere around there but i just dont care anymore, i don't play it enough to keep up with how fast they are introducing better gear.

yeah I was just the opposite. I PvE'ed for PvP gear mostly... TBC raiding was a blast though. Wotlk was way too retard friendly IMO, and cata seemed to be going in that same direction.

I have put so many hours in to the first two games in this series, having played both through several times. One of my favourite series, and the first is easily up there among my top five of all time. To get this, an MMO, after so many years of waiting for a sequel, is like a slap in the face. For me at least, one of the major draws of a game, and of an RPG in particular, is the storyline, and the characters. Some of these games require a lot of hours to be committed, and to put 40 hours into a video game without losing interest is very rare for me these days, because when you get past the amazing graphics and so-so gameplay there is nothing of substance to draw me into the game. Having to know what happens next in a good story is the main driving force that keeps me going for all that time. Knights of the Old Republic had that rare combination of gameplay, characters, and storyline that drew a few plays out of me every now and then even though I had already gone through the dialogue and plot. The main failing of MMOs up to this point, in my opinion, is the inability to craft an effective storyline and create some kind of meaningful connection to the characters. The Old Republic looks like it is taking great strides towards bridging the gap, I have quite a few doubts though. With an MMO, one of the major draws is the endless gameplay, never running out of new things to explore. How can one maintain a good storyline and characters over the amount of continual content that must go into an MMO? I have watched many videos of The Old Republic, and not one of them has yet succeeded in turning me on to the game. However, I guess all judgements must be reserved until one gets the game in their hands, which I will probably end up doing at some point. I hope it will not be a disappointment, but I recognize there is a distinct possibility. I recall when I graduated from the Nintendo 64 back in the day to the original Xbox; the concept of using two joysticks to aim in a first person shooter boggled my mind and I wasn't sure if I would be able to adjust. Nowadays it's hard going back to Goldeneye and using one joystick to both aim and move.
