so, yeah. i started. i need more lights. i am only gonna veg the sprouts ( i know you cant see really well in the pix) for another week before i flower. limited space is why. and yes: that is a coffee can used as a reflector, because i am a genius. or resourceful.

tomorrow will be 7 days since the first sprout penetrated into the air part of the world. as you can see one of the seeds had a retarded coledon leaf that was dead and brown so i removed it. and is also in scotts (budget... it tiiight. but i have a thumb, so fingers crossed) so it is going slower. it also had less taproot showing than the other one when i planted them. also i may have buried it a little deep. the bigger sprout is doing great in some organic soil that the wife had had sitting around for 3+ years. the plant seems to like it. the bushy one is a regen that i see turning into something sorta weird. it only grows three leaves. i know it is female, but wow. i am doing LST to try to keep the hight in line with that of the sprouts (wich will also get LST) for the sake of convenient light setup, wich will soon be seeing a major improvement. i am using an all organic, all plant derived fert to make a tea. it's flax, cottonseed and kelp. using it only on the regen now, as it got repotted 3 weeks ago so it is out of stress, but after a few weeks organinc tea and molasses (whooda-thunk) for all. as for the fert now... it is only like 5-1-5 i think, so i am gonna need some flowering fert and in 7days i go to 12/12 and will try to update. but my camera is a suck-hog that kills batteries in no time.

spellcheck FTW.

wow.
a week made a huge difference in one of the plants. and the regen is putting out 5 point leaves now. got some molasses
today and added some to the fert. tea i watered the regen with.
also set up a yeast CO2 bottle. will take pics later in the week. the knowlege i get on these forums is great.

day 10 since sprout.
i am getting frustrated with the tiny sprout that had the retarded colledon leaf. can't complain about the other sprout however, it's going foreward with it's agenda, today i did it's first nutes. a tea made with the fert picture. on sunday night these plants will experience their first dark period when i put them into 12/12. also a pic of my extreme-ghetto grow box with new extreme-ghetto CO2 generator and flexi-straw gas delivery assempbly... ME ftw.

ok. i killed the retarded seedling. i was sick of it taking up space and not actualy growing. started to LST the large sprout. i have decided to re-veg it once it has finished flowering. it is a badass strain, whatever it is.

tomorow night begins 12/12. it will be the first darkness in weeks, so i expect to see rapid growth. and right now i am germinating some bagseed to try 12/12 from sprout as a sort of experiment. my reveg is friggin' COVERED in budsites. the thing is only about 7 inches tall and i counted at least a dozen 'tops' since i started to LST the branches. toodle-oo.

holy friggin crap!
the sprout is now just 2 weeks old and is putting out 7 point leaves already. it is enduring a simple LST for a couple days. nothing fancy, just a bend to expose the secondary growth that is already branching and putting out 5 point leaves. 2 weeks!
this is a genetic monster.
started water with flowering nutes (schultz 10-60-10 at 1/4 strength). like i expected, growth is noticeably faster under the 12/12 than it was under 24/0.

ok. i ham-handedly broke the top of one plant off. so i stapled it over and trimmed the leaves that were laying in the dirt. i didnt originaly intend to top it, but whatever...the secondary growth is coming along nicely and the re-veg is also doing super great. did a small flush on it, some of the larger leaves were starting to show signs of over nute (slight bend at tip of leaf) so it's just water for a few weeks for the reveg. got more lights and ONE Y adapter. friggin walmart was out of them.
so not four 26 watts but three for now. plus i got some daylight bulbs for cloning or whatever. should i mix a daylight with two warm whites? i was thinking about it, but i didnt do it...

so the re-veg is going bonkers. i put a screen on it to help seperate the branches. the sprout turned out to be a male, so i killed it. a second seedling is also a male, but i am convinced that the female will turn any plant to male it grows with, so i am taking the universe's direction and will pollinate the re-veg. i expect those will be good seeds, though not a stable strain. i am gonna keep my daddy's pollen and breed with the best i get from that lot. but that is mind-boglingly far away in time (at least 6 weeks). sigh...

so this sunday marks 4 weeks in 12/12. 3 weeks from first show of sex.
i made an isolation chamber for the male and had to cut off the main fan leaves to get it to fit. all-in-all i am pretty pleased with the flowering, aside from the fact that this female keeps turning plants male. i am currently doing a bannana peel ethylene feminization experiment with about 5 or 6 seeds. rock-on.

bro, please don't take this the wrong way (my personal friends might laugh) but that is the most broke dik setup I have ever seen! If it grows, you need to change your handle to MacGuyver because only he could gro with a coffee can, 1-litre bottle and twistie straws (bonus points if you cut the coffee can with a swiss army knife).

You're either insane or brilliant and I will be watching to find out ;-)

peace

not taken the wrong way at all. it looks different in there now. the coffee can is gone and there are 4 lights now. the co2 bottle is ghetto, sure, but thats fine. i am pure function-over-form and it doesnt bother me. oh, and i cut the can with Wiss tin snips.http://www.cooperhandtools.com/brands/CF_Files/model_detail.cfm?upc=037103580214 I HAS A TOOL BOX.

ok, so i now have 2 seeds sprouting from my banana peel/ ethylene gas experiment.
two of the seeds popped and started germinating in the jar (they were in a folded coffee filter) without any water at all. the seeds were dry when i saw taproot.
so my brain tells me: the ethylene ripened them to the point they germinated. seriously, one was popping so hard the shell had shattered. they are in with the re-veg now on a 12/12 and i expect at least one of them to penetrate the dirt today. so maybe 3 weeks till i see sex on them. fingers crossed.

well, i don't know what to say about the fact that one of the seedlings from the ethylene experiment has THREE (3) cotelydons and three primary leaves. the other had a stem the color of boiled beets. like, crazy, huh scoob? the reveg now has buds that are getting rock hard and are like an inch thick, some are more. i think i am gonna hit it with some of my veg ferts because it is awfuly chloritic for only five weeks (give or take) in flowering. then one more shot of flowering nutes and on to flush for a week.

so an update with no pix.
the little triploid is producing branches and 7 point leaves. the boody thing is only about 4 inches tall. i took it out of the pot the other day to peep the roots and it has a very very healthy root system. it is flowering. the branches also have three leaf sets at the tops. the other one that had the beet red stem is doing much better than her sister. also have a tomato plant going and it is about two months old. i have been LSTing it and sort of 'weaving' the branches so it is a self-supporting structure. my light time is 11.5 day, 12.5 night and the tomato is puttting out flower buds already. tasty tomatos in my tiny box. whod'a thunk.
