i have a very healthy 6 ft xmas tree growing in my back yard under the sun light with plenty of circulation . it is now 2 and half months old , and budding, but the smell is very faint , only when i touch it does my fingers smell, Does the smell have anything to do with the strenght of it afterwards? it is perfect so far minus the smell , what could i do ?

smell can have a correlation to strength but one does not guarantee the other. Severely danky smell is generally a good thing though. Ferts and nutes have a lot to do with the smell. Bat guano is going to produce some stanky ass bud. The smell is going to get exponentially worse as the plants start to sex. If the plant doesn't reek pretty bad by the time you can see signs of sex, you might have an issue, although I've never heard of that happening.

*edit: I just realized that you said the plant is 2 1/2 months old. Indoor speaking, you would have already seen signs of sex by now, but seeing as how you are outdoors, you may not be. Is your plant showing signs yet?

P.S. Six feet??? Get some pics of that beautiful beatch.
