The Rosin Press: Let's make rosin! Tutorial on how to make proper dabable cannabis oil

The problem with rosin being that it's way too much work scraping it off the paper and there's always some left on the paper. Solvent is just so much easier, unless you're crazy enough to screw around with butane, in which case you again make way too much work for yourself to even be worth it. Room temperature liquid solvents are the only real practical way. And for those who say that rosin is better because it's solventless, it's not solventless. The solvent is the terpenes, which are actually more toxic than alcohol or acetone. The oral LD50 for alpha pinene is 3700 mg/kg in rats, limonene 4400. Now for ethanol it's 7060 and acetone 5800.

There will be far more terpene in rosin or any solvent extract than solvent residue and its more toxic. The only way rosin pressing would make sense is if laws won't permit flammable solvents. But then you could use CO2, which actually pulls almost no terps at all. People will say it lacks flavor, but then it also lacks toxicity. Granted nobody could consume enough terpenes to reach the LD50 but I'm simply pointing out the difference in toxicity to acetone or alcohol for the principle of it. Point being that people are way too concerned about solvent residue while ignoring the fact that terps are themselves more toxic.

Good video though. However, YourBrainOnWeed made some videos and found that he got higher yields by pressing normal buds right from the bag than by pressing them into discs first. Either him or another guy, I think it was him. BTW, you know YouTube won't monetize weed videos, right? That's why YWOB stopped making them recently. The videos are good if your goal is just to be helpful though.

Actually, I just went to look at some YourWeedOnBrain vids and found he deleted the channel. Shame, there were some good vids on there.

Im now using a different parchment paper. It is an entirely better paper with less harmful coating. It also allows me to scrape very quickly. Press 2 grams and I can collect it in 20 secs. My yields are getting better too now that I am dialing in the temps and pressure. Please see my instagram @DarthBlazeAnthony

I see. Rosin pressing is fine if you don't mind the trouble involved, and buying the equipment I guess. Just seems a whole easier to chuck 50-100 grams in a 1 liter glass measuring cup and extract it with acetone or alcohol quickly and easily, rather than pressing 1-3 grams at a time. But it's a different product to try for variety I suppose.

I'm using Raw's parchment to press flower and there are some strains that yield something really nice, but too oily to pickup off the paper. It just smears. Has your recent paper change made a difference in this regard? Thanks.

Solventleas Rosin IS king.

No one wants solvent extract garbage any longer. It's yesterday's news. Solventless is where it's at. 55g for trim runs and 75g for flower runs all day, every day. I can't make enough of it. I have about 80g of iso extract, I only use for edibles. Can't even get rid of it for 5g any more.

Acetone, just asking to be poisoned. Do some research from greywolf over at skunkfarm research. Dude knows his extracts, cls systems, ect.
