The red army (Russia) existed between 1918 - 1946. I should of said Imperial Russian Army as that was what they were fleeing in the 1870s. The area then would have been near today's Hamburg, in northern Germany - Prussia we were told.

I was merely conveying that I too spoke low German (Plautdietsch) and may have a similar ancestry. My best friend's Mom was born in Odessa, Ukraine and too spoke low German. It's not that common of a language.
Omi used to live near Kyyiv. She fled the revolution with her family at thirteen.

Royal blood sounds like the perfect con, you can't be fired because of incompetence, corruption, breaking laws or anything else, you have the magical blood that makes everything you do ok.

Next time stop and get gravestone rubbings.
“Granite Quarry Key Factor in Location of Folsom Prison”
“A legislative act of 1858 provided for the construction of a ‘branch prison’ prompted by overcrowding and increasing escapes from San Quentin. One of the principal requisites for a new prison site was the availability of materials that would insure labor for convicts. It was felt that this condition would best be accomplished by having them work granite quarries in Northern California. Folsom was finally chosen over Rocklin because of its location close to the American River and the railroad which ran to the town of Folsom. “Granite mined from the quarry by convicts was used in the construction of prison buildings, Folsom Dam and canal, and other public buildings in the Sacramento area. And, there was the ready market for crushed rock for highway construction. It was sold to state and county agencies for thirty cents a cubic yard and to private companies and individuals for fifty cents a cubic yard. “The building on the left in the photograph is the power house in the lower yard. The shelters in the right foreground are where granite blocks were brought for shaping to meet specific building requirements. “The quarry ceased operation in 1944.” All the granite walls of the prison came from this quarry.
The train that Johnny Cash sings about in Folsom Prison Blues was referring to freight trains moving crushed rock out of the prison quarry. They still blow a steam train whistle each day at high noon at Folsom prison.
There were many more men executed by hanging at Folsom than have been executed in the gas chamber in San Quinten. Condemned men on death row were given a blank headstone and a chisel and hammer and allowed to carve their own gravestone. Most were buried in the prison graveyard. Penology was a different sport in the 1800..

You take one part out of my post in reply to Sky’s comment about monarchy in general, and then suggest I said Queen Elizabeth is no more than that, then add what you think I think “a Head of State is“… what is this, World Strawman Day? Obviously queen Elizabeth is much more than that. Yes, “is” and will remain to be. A definition does not dictate what something is, Head of State does in practice not mean what you imply, not even close. If you want to argue it should explicitly mean nothing on paper too then yeah, I agree. If you want to subscribe more power to her or pretend she was an obstacle in democracy then nah…

Appearantly, they do. Yet per person they cost close to zero, which does not include the immeasurable portion of indirect income for the UK. Saying the monarchs cost money is never actually about the monarchs costing money.
It’s not about monarchs costing money, it’s about them hiding the money stolen from the kingdom and formerly the empire and not being held to account. It’s isn’t possible to audit the monarchy

And you've also got the opinion that it's an embarrasing relic of a system from a horrible part of our history. The history of this monarchy in particular has been nasty to many areas of its realm and even suggests crushing one of them in their anthem devoted to the monarchy.

Aye, let's keep the inbred, murderous, pointless cunts. lol

Seriously, what good are they?
