Is the patreon worth it? $10 a month seems steep for the rate he creates content. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that he puts time and effort into it, that seems awfully steep.

I love Potcast, but these small producers need to add more value if they're going to charge more than $2-3 a month. There’s nothing on The Potcast you can't find on the other free podcasts.
I suggest "High on Homegrown" they just interviewed the Mephisto crew
Also "Growcast" is ok, basically one big ad for Foop products though.
& "Cheap Home Grow" Podcast Is really excellent.

Potcast is loads better than High on Homegrown. I listen to both for years. Heavy Daze on Potcast has an encycopedic knowledge of strains and the industry and has really good questions for the breeders lined up. Easily the best growing podcast IMHO
HOHG is fun and casual but they put little effort into the interviews except for actually getting them. They don't read the books of their guests or do much research before. Questions are not that deep if you are trying to learn about breeding of growing. But they let their guests talk casually which is great... but not nearly as informative IMO. I do really enjoy them for their News segment

Have you listened to Cheap Homegrow? They really go deep into the science. Well researched. Think you may like that one

I have but I honestly forgot about it. I bought Jack's book a year ago and he hand delivered it to my house though... haha... we live close by. Does anyone know a podcast without all the Bro Science? I had a hard time listening to Potcast because of all the nonsense and misinformation.
Some guests are way better than others for sure. Makes me sad that people who produce for the masses doesn't seem to care about keeping themselves updated on the new science.

Science is just a fancy word for "the study of".
If someone has lots of experience and grows fire without using the most up to date methods, it doesn't make their weed less fire or their seeds bunk.
This doesn't mean you should trust their ever word or do as they do, but I enjoy hearing what outlandish shit works for people.
I still call bullshit too, don't get me wrong, but without context, I'm addressing your sentiment in a more general sense.
As an aside, I thought yesterday's episode was hilarious with the guy who got "best new breeder" shitting on compound, followed by compound winning breeder of the year. The "I want to grow fat buds that smell like candy and gas but also have potency" sounded like a highschoolers interpritation of what kind of weed they would grow lol

Yeah, I personally listen to podcasts to learn something new. If they put a stereotypical stoner that sounds like a half ass retarded teenager talking about minerals in the broadest sense possible while trying to sound professional with quotes like : "Plants need phosphorus to photosynthesis" and talks about ranges up to 100ppm as "fine in flower" I can't do anything other than shake my head and turn the shit off!

There are a handful of podcasts that seem to cater directly to the science of growing. Shaping Fire comes to mind, and the cannabis cultivation and science podcast.
Potcast interviews Breeders and *not* scientists, generally. We get to learn their techniques and thoughts and thats about it. A lot of them are old school breeders and steeped in broscience. But I find it fascinating because there is a lot of variety in their technique but still a lot of broscience out there

That's fair. I do the same, but more in a historical way. This isn't to say I take these guys version of history as fact, but there are a large handful of interviews I can listen to on repeat for info on old strains, the people who spread them, and so on. Dudes like Bohdi, AKBB, Heimie Chieba, Todd Mccormick, etc aren't infallible, but they are fascinating characters and orators, both in and of the history of marijuana.

Listened to the latest episode, part 2 with "Not So Dog", and my jaw dropped when Daze called him out on the effects of flushing vs no flushing. That's one of the few times I've ever heard him give resistance to a guest, albeit I haven't heard every episode
