The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

Hey all. This is basically where i learned to grow with J Berry method, but I'm still learning. This is my third run and first time reusing coco. I didn't flush or charge i just started a plant in new coco that eventually got transplanted to a 10 gallon tote of reused coco. All was well till I cut out cal mag plus for a few waterings and started using top booster. Think my light was to close so I burned them a bit, I think. Which is fine. I flushed with flora kleen brought down ppms a bit. But problem persists a bit. Was wondering if I flushed with cal mag only to supplement mag that used coco is hogging up. Does that sound right? Maybe epsom salts. Will try to post a couple pics later. Also My ph coming out is about 7.2-7.4 or so. I water with at least a ph 6.0 or lower. Must admit now would be a good time for a ph meter. Just use aquarium ph test solution. Since I run drain to waste, i read ph and ppm's coming out of plant aren't to big a deal, so don't think theres a major problem there. anyways the plant is huge and isn't looking to bad, just want to make sure I don't mess things up any worse.
Also I started feeding them monster bloom after top booster, not sure if that helps. Ppm i'm feeding now is usually between 675 and 750 ppms hannah conversion. Will try to post pics if i can get a camera to work. Thanks all. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

hey nas i use autopots coz i just lyk to check on my plants every few days and fill up the res. i use a tray with six 8.5l pots using coco with air domes and the full canna line up. with a full res (47l) i go 4 days without needing to check them..just yielded 12 ounces of the 6 plants using a 400w hps.i recommend using autopots for the lazy grower lyk myself

Can you top feed with these? Or bottom feed only? I never heard of an autopot... I like the idea though

nice one.... im going to go for the 6 15L pots and 100L tank or 4 15L pots with a 47L tank still deciding!!..... ones you fill the tank do you check the ph daily ? and ones you refill your tank do you wait till its compleatly empty before you refill? and did you have to flush during the grow? you say you use the full line of canna nutes is that including pk13/14 and boost?

the only thing i am worried about is if your growing different strains they will be different in hight... normally i would place the pot on someting to reach the smaller plant to the light, my quastion is can that still be done with the autopots?

its bottom feed only, all you do is fill the tank with your water and nutes, ph to 5.8 and the tank will do all the rest for you just with gravity, all us coco grower would agree the most pain in growing in coco is watering, specially if your working and got a family, the auto pots just do all the work for you its brilliant,

Man thats brilliant i love it!

What would be the advantage to this over say top feed drip to waste?
hmmm i would say same results may be? because its the same method.... plants are receiving constant feed and watering and that's just what we need in coco,,,, canna advise to water 2-3 times a day:o lol if we did that we wouldnt have time for anything, but after seeing results in auto pots i know what canna mean,,,, the yield is huge!!! garanteed

I run the Bio-Canna line (Vega, Flores, Boost) but I've noticed my nugs lacking density this last grow. I gave them more boost at the peak 12-16ml/gal thinking they would bulk up. Any ideas or do I need to supplement more p and k throughout?

Sounds like you need PK13/14 added to your combo - given accordingly in the mystical 1 week window per Canna's instructions of course. However figuring out when this 1 week is, is the hard part...

pk13/14
most of us old school coco growers learned to start at week 3-4 for about 2 weeks, works very well

Can you describe what you want the flower development to look like, or just week 3-4 start and go for 2 weeks?

I have some Querkle about 12 days flowering and im just getting the first tiny little gatherings of hairs. Not even clusters of hairs yet.

I've never used booster while being organic but I've always noticed that when I would use them, it seems they work best when your plants are done stretching. Some 3 weeks, some 4 but it is all strain specific. My buddy uses a (0-4-4) kelp booster in those weeks as well and has been screaming at me to try it. I guess I'll have to give that a try. P k 13/14 is organic?

Edit: I just finished up my Querkle. Used with tthe bio canna line...I'll post a picture or two once I upload them.
