Ahhh, I do!
I will start the mainlining process on the GL when the time is right.
It is supposed to be a TALL grower, so instead of stopping the toppings at 8 colas, I will top one more time on that plant for 16 colas and the AK-47 will be flipped with only 8.

A man with a plan

AK-47 is coming along nicely, as is GL !

I added another 150 watts of light with a clamp on lamp, a y splitter and 2 4100K bulbs that replace 75W each.
Time to PUMP this party UP !

The growth since I added the extra light yesterday afternoon has been impressive.
BOTH the leaves AND the roots !!!

Meanwhile, I am waiting on delivery of a new Hanna PH checker.
Mine took a dump after 2 runs.
So I have been using the drops to check PH, which I break out once in a while to double check those meters.

The seeds popped 7 days apart and the GL is at 5 nodes, poppin the 6th.
AK is at 3, poppin the 4th.

Well, I have made a couple last minute tweeks to the machine.
I added 1 more big air stone to the root res.
I had it down in the lower res, but it gets plenty aeration down there from the returning water falling down.

I also painted both tubs black to help keep light out of the soup.
Then I tested out the Phillips CDM bulb & ballast and the light coming down thru the air hole between the freezer & fridge was WAY too bright.
So I added a light trap from 4" aluminum duct piping.
I painted it black inside so it wouldn't act like a "solar tube"
I had to bite a little notch out of the freezer door parts to get the door to close.

You may have noticed the foil on the front of the Root tub.
I masked off a rectangle ares before painting the tub then applied the foil with a "window" cut into it.
I wanted to be able to look at the roots with a flashlight.

You can see a coil of about 20 feet of 1/4" water tubing.
I have this all hooked up to the res for automatic add backs.
I popped a small hole in the A/C duct hose and ran the water line from outside in the ground, up through the shed floor and into the freezer area via that hole.
I also added a little inline shutoff valve.
I wanted the water to be staged inside the freezer area to be cooled down slightly before being added to the rez.

I am using this chart pretty much right on.
Had to kinda split the difference on the first 2 weeks because of a 7 day difference in the age of the plants.

It is my pleasure.
I wished I could have found something like it when I was just getting started instead of having to make it all up myself.
I do gotta say tho, this thing almost built itself.
Everything just seemed to work out perfect (You'll notice that I used that word a LOT?)
Well, I think I am getting ever closer to that benchmark !

Anyhow, I believe I will do my first topping on the GoldLeafuck.
She has the 6th node showing pretty good and the 7th popping out.
Probably later today she will look a LOT different.
Cut back to the 3rd node to start building the "manifold"

Man... it still hurts to cut away that much growth.
But look at the growth between 8PM and 5AM this morning.

AND... both plants are spitting out roots like aa mofo !
I tried GH "Rapid Start" this time to give the roots a little boost and it seems to have really increased root production.
The WHOLE reason you grow the plant out to 6 nodes then chop back to 3 is to develop a strong root mass so recovery times between toppings will be shorter.

Giddy-up !

Each new main already has 2 nodes, popping the third.
