Oh I am still here. A bit addicted I suppose. Though truth be told, I have met a whole bunch of really nice people in real life through this place and have not met many more who I would like to stay in my life.
This place is going through a bad phase but I have faith that it will get better even if we have to wait for fall - or longer. So I will be lurking if I am not posting.
Those of you who have been here for a while know what's up. A small number of users on RIU just sort of ruin this place by being themselves. Through their constant yammering and nuisance posts, they have succeeded in chasing off a critical number of good users. Those of us who have stayed have not felt like making threads or posts because of it. Every day the experience worsens. It's sad that we can't do anything about it collectively but I should know better than to expect it. It's also sad that @Football won't do anything - but I am not sure we want them to.
I guess you take the good with the bad. The thing I like about this place is that sense of wildness. No, I don't give an ass-crack about the right to post nudity BTW.
But better sites than this have been taken down by trolls. Every system has its Achilles heel, even RIU. If it were me, I would probably exercise my godly powers before too long.
I can't escape the thought that I could come back here in a year and it very well might be the same place with one exception - even Finshaggy will have outgrown it in its current state.
But don't fret. A plan has been in the works for some time. It should be worth the wait.
One final thought. Some of you are getting soooo badly played right now. Spend some time learning about how trolls work. Pay close attention to the emotional tactics and the divide and conquer strategy. For Jebus sake, go learn something.
Yeah, I know... Not everybody shares my view on this. Some people think the troll is cute. For the most part, I don't like those people anymore.

I've pretty much stopped posting in the actual growing sections..well not nearly as much as i used to..it's too bad i liked helping people. I spend most of my time here because there are a few fun people..but the few who are total asshats ruin it. I've always noticed this place goes downhill in spring then picks up again in the fall...but it's been getting worse year after year. I've been perusing other growing forums looking for something a little more technical/research based and less he said, she said, your dumb,noob,troll, you suck,rape,consent!!
