The method that old school chemists used to make the highest quality Cannabis Oil.

Hello Kids,

Back when High Times was kept behind the counter and Cannabis as illegal everywhere, this I how I made high quality "Hash Oil." Basically, with all the hardware available today, I won't go into details how I manufactured my refluxing equipment. But there were wider assortment of non-polar solvents to choose from. My favorite was Ethylene Trichloride, Analytical Grade of course, because it was considered non-flammable. Also known as Trichloroethylene, I would raise the temperature until it just began to boil, refluxing solvent through finely ground buds, leaves, stems, everything. As with Ethyl or Methyl alcohol, Trichloroethylene extracts everything; resin, chlorophyll, waxes, etc. This is what I referred to as Crude Oil. You could smoke it, eat it, but it left behind a great deal of ash, and was hard to work with as far as cooking. The secret step to come later if anyone cares. HINT: It involves activated charcoal!

Yeah, scary some of the shit that brothers and sisters did back when we couldn't talk about.

we used Trichlor extensively in vapor degreasers, until they were banned as an ozone depleting gas, along with Perchlorethylene, extensively used as a dry cleaning fluid.

Both break down into Hydrofluoric acid when overheated or combusted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichloroethylene

We've used activated charcoal filtration, but it also takes out a fair amount of the good stuff too.

Good that we can share now and have better and safer procedures these days.
