The Making Of A Monster!

Another question I had was when you used the generators to power up the op did you have it indoors or outdoors & if so how did you control the carbon monoxide & the noise that they generate? Some generators have a 12 hour run time at the rated output & there DB rating is slightly a little bit louder than some fans, like 58-69 DB. I have done research on them & some people have said the more wattage you pull the noisier the DB will get. Any input you have would be appreciated. :peace:

This generator is underground. It has the back of a container, that whole container is worthless because of the odor. The Dig is offline ATM. Fuel is too expensive, and the property is being used for other things

So do you think a basement or a closed bathroom with an exhaust fan would work good? If the bathroom were soundproofed would you think that would work?

My biggest problem is the CAT motor in the generator, uses more cfm then i could bring in. i had to use a intake stack for the generator and a exaust muffler
About 6 foot long, aside from that i have rigged a 1080 cfm fan to exaust that area, i used food service curtains found in walking coolers and such to create a buffer zone then i framed a wall to isolate the generator, the generator is supported in a vibration damper, running this unit underground elimated nearly all the noise. being these containers have a large buffer zone around and about 6 foot of top soil it merely sound like a outdoor AC at the most, underground in the container, you are overpowered my the smell, more over the noise is extremely loud.

In the Second container, moisture is the worse part.
Even with bio diesel @3.33 a gallon it is not gost effective to produce my own power.

A hard LESSON LEARNED

Thanks for the info Abud. I know I wont be doing 15kw, Im looking at about 7kw with a db rating of 69 so I probably wont need a 1080 cfm fan but more like a 772 cfm. I plan on using neoprene on the floor & walls along with sound proof material that they use for studios & run an extension cord to the op. Ill bring in the air to cool the generator from another area of the house. The unit below is what im looking at.
