The itch/excitement of the grow

Okay, after the initial spazz and excitment of my planned grow, I have settled down and came to a realization, SLOW DOWN and RELAX! For some reason I had it in my mind that the bigger the better, which eventually will be the case. For now however, I will focus on the down size, concentrate on the space and lighting I need for what Im planning on growing; 3/4 plants. Perfect that then move on. I have a nice space for growing aprox 30 sq feet however no funds to set up that big of space at the present moment.
With this being said, today I will post what I have for space in the hopes that I will receive some feed back on how to most efficiently use this space. For the time being, I could use the following information. What size veg "box" would be ideal for three to four plants?
Secondly, what size room or "box" is ideal for the flowering stage of three to four plants?
Green thanks for reading and any help offered.

I would figure about 1sq ft per plant would be ok, but the more the better. And at least 4ft ht. Also use hps for flowering for best results.
As for pics, just save them to your desktop and use the attatchment option(little paperclip icon) when posting to upload them. Hope this helps. Good luck.

also make sure you change your camera settings to take the pictures in the lowest resolution possible so the pictures will upload better...the site recommends 600X600 but i think most cameras do 640X480 which works fine

Mojo, first off, welcome to the grow! I had 4 plants going under a single 150 watt HPS into an are that is 2.5 ft X 2.5 ft X 4ft tall. It was a little cramped when they got bigger, but I ended up having 2 males. So, I had all that room for 2 girls! The only problem that I ran into(and it wasn't even that big of a deal), was my sativa dom grew tall so when I adjusted my light, the bottom flowers were neglected a little. I compensated for this by multi-harvesting. I didn't want to take those buds if they weren't done yet. So I topped it and lowered my lights. Now I have a cola about 8 inches long, inch or so wide drying as we speak and the lowers buds are now swelling and getting ripe! For my next grow, I am going to simply add some side lighting to help the sub-colas out.

For lighting, the HPS is a good way to go because it is probably the best "all around" light you can get. The only drawback is it can make your plants stretch during the veg state, but you can reduce this by keeping the light close to your plants. HPS is great though for flowering. Not to say that MH, or CFL systems aren't good, but that orange/yellow glow of the HPS mimics the spectrum of the "harvest sun". Well, hope that helped a little. People may disagree with me, this is just what worked for me. Once again, good luck and feel free to stop by and ask questions! :peace:
