Oh the good old days. When you could actually window shop. Your Mom could walk outside during the summer months real late and not be bothered. No fecking A/C, OK feck that I like A/C, sitting on the steps with your neighbors, hanging out in the park, cruising real slow in your car, going to the movies (yeah it was a big thing, especially if you went to a drive-in, regular theater they had A/C, well actually it water cooled), rollerskating, dances, oh feck I could go on and on.
All the Dodge & Crys. cars had loose steering.. that and the ballast resistor and those noisy starters.. The Fords had the power steering hoses hang under car.....
You could get in a fight and no one would shoot your ass..

My second car was a (used) 1974 Firebird.... I had it for exactly 2 weeks before I rolled it ... in the rain.... out on a back country road in Placer County. The car was smashed like a pancake... and I kept trying to convince the insurance company it could be repaired.... (17 year old logic  ).

...... Daddy made me buy a nice safe little putt putt Dodge Colt after that
I have a 1974 firebird...I'm 54 started smoking at 14...

I like how ive inspired the car god in all of us to come out . Ive been in love with muscle cars since i was in 5th grade. I remember reading a old book that had a bunch of supercars in it and i came accross the 65 shelby cobra. I was alil bias towards fords (because of my dad) but damn did that car really make my blood pump..... I love the real days of AMERICAN MUSCLE! :hump:

I liked the black strip bumper... My GF had the 75 trans am and they'd gone to the molded one...

Had a friend who had a Charger that put out 550hp at rear wheels... 440hemi, balanced and blueprint... that was fast... he had a mega clip on the dash and if you bet him he'd put bet in clip and see if you could grab it... it wasn't easy...
Even slow cars weren't... my old mans 66 falcon had a 170 ci but went like stink...
