Any comments or questions are welcome at any stage throughout this journal.

This time I intend to be thorough with it.

I got a pack of seeds, i got The hog from TH seeds.

This isnt where i got them from, i just went to my local shop and bought them.

Th Seeds The Hog | Th-seeds Seeds | Sensible Seeds

I got them home started 4 of them germinating, I've held 6 back for later use.

I got two plates and put some paper towel down on one plate. I sprayed this with water until thoroughly soaked.

I then put the seeds on the wet towel and then put some dry towel on top which soaked up the excess and created cocoons around the seeds.

I then put another plate on top and put it in a drawer so it gets complete darkness and room temperature heat. Temps are about 21 deg c.

After one day germinating one of the seeds has cracked, 3 more left to go.

None of these plants will make it to flowering until I am ready to breed them, they will be used merely for clones.

thats alot of money for some seeds?
Its not really, when you consider the amount of time and effort gone into the breeding of these cannabis cup winners.

So they cost 180 bucks, thats 18 bucks per seed. say you get 50/50 fem/male so it costs 36 dollars a seed.

From that seed you clone clone clone and turn it into 40 plants. You grow them all out and end up with say 50 ounces of premium quality cannabis cup winning weed. It costs your usually lighting plus on average 36 dollars each for the female mothers.

What lighting are you planning on using and how many plants are planning for this SOG?

I have to get it set up again first. I'm having a change around to my setup. More lights added and the plants moved closer together. I'm going for a sea of green.

3 x 600w hps going really close on the sog and keeping very small plants, looking for between a half oz and oz per plant. I have large containers that I just flowered 8 per system, but they were far to spaced out and I need them closer together. I'm figuring on around 30 colas per tank. I plan to have 4 areas and 4 strains doing a rotating crop for harvest every 2 weeks. The cheese clones are almost ready to go in, follwed by some super skunk and then followed by hog clones and then some jack herer which should be arriving tomorrow.

Mothers will be grown in 6" grodan hugo blocks and clones will be flowered in dwc.

3 600w but 4 grow areas? 600w for 30 small clones. What would that take, 5'X5'? What are you going to vegg with and keep the moms under?

vegin is a seperate issue, that will be done in another area of the house.

I'm going to use something like this and convert it to have mothers on the left under a 250w cfl. On the shelves on the right I play to have low wattage cfls for propagators to house clones until they have rooted enough to be flowered.

When i say small plants I mean small plants, its not going to take 5 x 5 to fit that many, i'm talking about 4" fat buds. I've done the calculations and i'm think i could fit 3 times as many clones in as I did last time. They were in 6" net pots last time this time they are going in 3" net pots.

The areas are not going to be seperated, they are all going to be together with 3 600w running down the middle, I'll have the option of an extra 400w hps/mh if more lighting is needed.

Gotcha. Sounds like you have this well thought out. One thought though, you think you can pull 1/2 oz - 1 oz off a 4" cola?

Yeah easy see above picture, the smallest plant i had which isnt in that picture came in at a quarter dry because it was underlit, the others so far the smallest weighed 3 oz wet and the largest was 5 oz wet, so after drying should get an oz easy.
