Ok, so how do I keep my ph in check? Everything is sitting at about 6.9 right now. Is the best thing to do, just add ph down to my water, and get the water to about 6? Thanks for the help!!! :)

i recomend using r/owater an any ive used has been at 6.5 an depending on your nutes it will lower or rasie the ph....so check the solution with the nutes in it with out phing the water first....see what it is then ph from there....this will give you an idea of where the ph will be at....also if just watering yes ph down to 6...peace az

Thanks for the help, but what is r/owater? Might be a dumb question, but I don't know!!! LOL. Sounds good though, and this system really sounds pretty easy to keep everything in check, just check ph before you water or feed, and the perlite keeps everything the same in the pot!! Wonderful! Thanks so much!!

R/O Water is Reverse Osmosis Water, alot of people say they can get it at their local walmart, but I've never seen it at any of the ones I've been too. I use distilled water, slightly different, but basically the same stuff.

LOL!!! Why wouldn't I want to use the water I get for free and adjust the PH? I spend enough money as it is, and water is one thing I would hope I wouldn't need to buy! I think I will stick to tap water, and adjust the ph as needed. My tap water is already right at 6.9, so doesn't need much adjusting. Thanks for the help though! :)

R/O water the ppm is 0 and the ph is 6.5 and it doesnt have fluoride and other additives that tap water has, in some regions the tapwater is ok to use, but I get 5 gallons of R/O for 1.50 and my tap water sucks I dont drink it, so I wont feed it too my ladies ...

aye tap water from city to city region region will differentiate that is why i suggest useing r/o or distilled as i know the starting base of any an can work from there....not only do you need to look at ph but ppm as some taps come at 400+ as just water....peace az

R/O Water and Distilled Has on most times a 0 part per million count.. Better for the plants it's not always about ph with the water..

PH is a myth if i cant see it , it doesnt exist. I fill up my water bottles set them on the counter and right after i water i fill them up again. PH is like santa and the tooth fairy no such thing.;)

I'm in veg and im going to change my nutes to a different brand today. Should i give the plants a flush before i use the new nutes or just feed as normal? They are pretty much the same npk except a bit higher in nitrogen.

Give a watering or two of just water. then the new nutes, would be my guess.

What do I need to get to test my tap water for ppm? I have ph tester, but unsure about the ppm. Thanks!
lol they make ppm meter, most hydro growers have them, it would probably be cheaper to buy the r/o water a good meter can cost 200 and if your ppm is too high in your tap water you will have to buy the r/o water anyway:joint:
