Well I tried to catch up and read the whole thing. The inane banter overcame me at page 67. Anything good happen between then and now???

The reason nobody reads these threads is because they don't want to go through all the chit-chat.

Y'all did a good job describing the technique and spreading the religion over the first 10 pages, but after that....

It never dawned on me to just use holes poked through tape for a lid on the bubble cloner...I was always using fancy lids and inserts or net-cups -- stupid. Thanks for that idea whoever that was!

Adding to the inane chit-chat, hempy buckets do work well. They will easily rival DWC or E&F (especially if you lose a pump or airstone and aren't paying attention). Personally I use GH nutes with a modified mixing schedule (light)...I have found that with RO water the GH puts you into decent PH range without having to use PH up or down. Oh, and for you people with the dying soil grows, just throw the whole rootball right on top of the hempy bucket. Your plants will love it!
Im on page 96 and have to say Amen. Its like a tea party. check out my videos, hows grandma? LOL, great thread though this link was shared on the hempy thread at icmag, and i'm in the process of jumping on the wagon. It would be nice to have this thread hempy only related. but shit we all get hi and ramble. i;m over half way i think

i asked this is the plant problem section twice and couldnt get an answer, you think one of you hempy guys could help out?? it looks like they are turning more and more yellow on me!

daytime temps - 80f
nightime temps - 70f
distilled water at 5.6 - 6.0PH, room temperature
48in fluro daylight shoplight 32W about 4-5 inches away
this is 2 full weeks after sprouting.. ive included all the pics since day 6 to help you see what changes might have occured or not etc.. (at first i was using bottled spring water and not ph'ing it.. i only started about 3 days ago with the distilled)

so yeah if anyone can give me an idea if this is normal or not,id appreciate it!! thanks.. seed leaves are now yellowish but not dead so when exactly should i start the nutes, when theyre falling off or yellow is a good time?

(notice some pics are just 1 dixie cup, some are 2.. because the one by itself is NL and the two together are AK47).. thanks!

perlite has no food in it..gettin seedlings going in it means you'll need to add low dose nutes to keep em going strong...peace az

yeah but everywhere i read it says that cotyledon are all thats needed for the first little while, i didnt ask YOU but, i figured they cant all be wrong.. that or that first little while has passed.. ok anyway ill try small dose.. is 300ppm small enough? and lets say i mix up like 1gal of nuted water, do i need to keep it oxygenated via pump and airstone or can i just keep it in a bottle and seal it and i dont have to worry? and keep it out of the light i guess? i know algae will build and eat up the nutes if you dont bubble your res in likw dwc or whatever, but it doesnt seem necessary in this case just wanna be sure

So do you think transplanting causes any extreme shock to the plant Azgrow? Reason I ask is if you go to my journal you'll see my big...er girls that have been vegging for almost 2 months now...I want to put them into 18 gallon rubbermaid roughneck hempys but with their size I am afraid they could be damaged in some way...I am positive its just a ball of friggen roots as it is pretty heavy and solid in its 75/25 per/verm mix. They have had preflowers for a good month now, pistils and hairs all over em, trying to mblaze it up! any comments in the journal are appreciated if they are civil, criticism welcome, as long as its CONSTRUCTIVE!

as long as your not overly rough transplanting you'll be fine....also i have found that plants grow better in perlite thats been used once or twice...i got my info from pro tomato growers who run greenhouses with 100%perlite dripfeed...an after doing some tests it's the same for mj.....peace az

This thread is awesome and I am looking forward to getting things rollin...my only question which I cannot seem to find for the life of me:

I purchased the GH 3 part nutes....I understand that I only need to use a fraction of what it calls for when I start with the nute feeding from the beginning...but, do I need to run all 3 of them from the beginning?? Or do I use just the Micro and FloraGro until I am ready to flower then switch to Bloom?? This just has me confused and I know I am putting way too much thought into it. Thanks in advance!!

do u have to germ the seed first or is it ok to just stick it in the perlite and water?

i'd say germ first, because it's easy to see the progress, when the seed cracks and taproot is showing, plant it tail down, i highly suggest using tweezers or something to place them, dont touch with fingers!! it will save you a few days germing in paper towel rather than straight up planting it.. google 'paper towel germ technique' if you wish to find out exactly what to do.. also, i would suggest starting in rockwool cubes i think it's easier to get them started..thats how i did it anyway, i just had to light water 2x a day until it was established, and taproot came through bottom of cube, then i put them in 8oz party cups with 100% perlite and very soon theyre going into 5gal buckets.. i can see roots wrapping around all over through my little hole..oh and this is my first grow and so far so good except for a little bit of yellowing on my babies, but AZ helped me take care of that, theyre greening up again already only been 2 days..what the heck, ill include a pic from today vs 2 days ago

What you should do is google 'the lucas formula'... it uses only the micro and bloom nutes, so you could bring back your bottle of grow and gets the $ back, it's a 1:2 part mix... super easy and has everything you need in just 2 bottles..like i said google lucas formula and i bet thats what you decide to use.. but if you wish not to, search for some type of normal feed schedule using all 3 parts

Oh wow....that is super easy to understand...thanks...I think I will keep the gro for possible later usage...one more question though

I started 6 germinated seeds in soil and I plan on transplanting them into my hempys when they hit about 5-6 inches tall...should I use straight water for the first week after transplanting and then start my light nutes?? I want to make sure they make it without too much hassle

Also...I am growing outdoors...does the Lucas Method work the same since I can't really regulate my light cycles??

It will vary as the plants grow. The capacity of your res is probably 3/4 to 1 liter? I'm guessing. Anyway, you'll know very soon when you start watering your plants; water slowly until water comes out of the hole. Every couple of waterings you might want to water until PLENTY of water comes out of the hole just to flush it a little.

Hey guys thanks a lot for the quick reply n sound advice man, much appreciated :)
Yeah shnkrmn the rez is ruffly 1/1.5ltr i think...
So i start of using the lucas formula with my seedlings straight away or do i start of with just plain water?
Will it be ok to transplant them into a 14ltr bucket with just 100% perlite?
Also when watering/feeding, do i leave water in the rez or do i tip the bucket to get all the water out?
Cheers guys, luvin this thread, i'd be lost without u lot lol :D
Over n out,
BG :D
