The Facts about S1 beans

Hello ,
I've ready many opinions on the web about making S1 seeds from a clone only female using CS.
Has anyone had experience with actually doing this and testing the seeds?
Will these S1 seeds hold all the genetics from the clone only?
How unstable will these S1 seeds be?
What is the approximate ratio for finding the clone only pheno mom from the S1 seeds.
Thanks all

Go to wikipedia and read about genetics, particularly homozygous vs heterozygous and dominate vs. recessive, etc.. If there are any heterozygous genes in the parent, then each one has a 25% chance of expressing the recessive half in each child. Since your average Cannabis "strain" is far from stable, the S1 generation will have all sorts of recessive traits pop out

Homozygous genes in the parent will be the same in the offspring. Each heterozygous gene in the parent has a 25% chance of being homozygous dominant, 50% chance of being heterozygous, and 25% chance of being homozygous recessive. That last one is where the surprises come from.

In other words, an S1 is only going to be a "clone" of the parent if all of the parents genes are homozygous.

Do your own experiments. Report back with your results. Thats what I'm doing.

Science is constantly proving someone wrong.

As long as the end result is not selling shitty beans nothing is lost, except maybe a little time.

Here's a simplified article on seeds with a nice little paragraph about why you get more variations from feminized lines than regular lines.

Whoah !
That article was awesome, bro. So simple, even I could understand it .
It's gonna be a great deal of help with my project of crossing an Aurora Indica and a Narkush with a Mazari to create my own personal resin monster. The most important thing seems to know what set of seeds you're dealing with and at what time ect and the importance of labeling and note taking.
Thanks

i've got a bunch of S1's from a F1 hermie
grown out 9, results were interesting
about a 50/50 of seeing another another hemie, no worse than reg seeds
but the phenos were all over the place, some strange phenos
some good, 1st plant had all the good of the parent + was hermie-less

50/50 hermies is really bad, but that's what happens when you self a hermie instead of a reversing a complete female. Hermies should be a super rare occurrence in a good genetic line.

When a plant is self pollinated, whatever genes it has get passed on from "both parents" (since only one plant is acting as both parents). So if you use seeds from a hermie that self pollinated, it will be as if both parents hermies.

hadn't seen that genetic perspective on hermie, not sure that it's true but interesting
i have seen posts about hermie 'lights', a few seeds but no disaster
i get the impression those seeds are pretty stable
my hermie was downright unstable, so i was prepared for difficult results
1/4 resemble dad, another 1/4 resemble mom, which does add to up one side of 50 percent
but the other 50 percent wouldn't necessarily be non hermie, i think it could be worse than 50/50
