The Effects of Hoophouse vs Pure Outdoor Grown on Terpenes

Over the years I have noticed that a lot of the plants I pull from the hoop house, compared to the outdoor crop, seem to have overall higher terpenes production. I can see this being as simple as the hoop house stuff never gets beat up from the weather, longer harvest window, more control.

I also seem to notice that the complete terpene profile for the stuff from the hoop is a little softer, more nuanced, a little more well balanced than some pure outdoor. This is usually a good thing, but sometimes the bold harshness for some varieties makes outdoor production best. Wondering if this is from the higher temps in the hoop house along with the diffused light?

Curious if anyone else has experienced this and what their conclusions are of why this happens or doesn't. I mostly grow from seed so I would be curious to hear from somebody that runs mostly clones and their experiences with terpene profiles in different outdoor situations. Thanks in advance.:bigjoint:

Found this gem. They talk about the hoophouse burning mono terps off in here somewhere.

Anyone else want to share their experiences?
