The Dude's 250W Scrog - Double Dose of Querkle & Power Skunk

The dude is back in the saddle. Decided to try out Querkle from Subcool. Heard some good things about it but wasnt able to find too many grow journals on it other than Sub's. So, here we go...

I'll spare you all the boring parts of the veg cycle and jump right into where I am now:

(2) Querkle + Power Skunk Feminized.
Querkle is from seed...I think its Space Queen dominant.
Power Skunk was free fem. seed.

Plants are 50 days from seed. Soil mix of 2/3 FFOF + 1/3 Perlite. I followed the FF Feed Schedule, used all their nutes. Just fed them at the week 7 watering.
They were topped at day 21. Put into flower at day 35.
I know Sub said to grow untopped or in scrog but I am severely limited in my grow space. 42" H - 7" planter - 7" reflector = 28" max plant height, and thats not including space between the glass and the plant tops. So I topped them and put them into a scrog I made of 2x2's and chicken wire. Started to LST them to the screen cause the ladies grew a whole lot in the past two weeks.

Heres a pic. Its night time in their world. I think it looks good for now. Comments???

Since my little grow closet isn't really climate controlled, we're gonna have to do something about the humidity. Its getting hot and humid lately and its not gonna get better any time soon. It runs about 50-58 % but during the final few weeks I want it at ~30%.
Anyone had any luck with using silica gel desiccant to dehumidify a space? My room is about 50 cubic feet. Looked into several forms of dehumidifying but most things arent suitable for my needs. I just bought (2) packs of Hydrosorbent 900 gram silica gel packs. We'll see how they do.
I will also give an update on the trio tonight after their watering.
In the meantime...abide.

Ive read a lot of reviews recently about what is available and works as far as portable dehumidifers go. Basically the more expensive the better. Humidity is extreme in my neck of the woods. I cant vent or really fit a portable unit and I dont want the heat from them either.
I didnt see anything on here about the silica gel so I thought I might as well get it and try it out. I didnt have any dehumidifying before (besides the central a/c which doesnt run into my grow closet), so I cant really be disappointed. I can always return it.

Day 53
Fed them each about 10ml of unsulphurated black strap molasses with the watering. Ph about 6.30 on all of them. I think they needed some calcium and iron, leaves were getting a little yellowish and droopy under the screen.
This is my first scrog so Im not exactly sure if I should prune all the leaves under the screen. I got rid of a good bit of them but left ones towards the top.
I LST'd the hell out of them. Took me a few hours to tie down about 3 dozen branchesto the screen and not overlap any. Here's the gals...

Ive been reading a good bit about differnet nutrients as my gals have a N deficiency. Yellowing leaves are not normal. I will add some more FF Grow Big in the feeding schedule next time or get some Jacks nutrients Blossom Booster (10-30-20) , gonna pick up some tonight.

looking very nice man. just wondering what you are gonna do with the growth under the screen? if you cut it all off you would probably yeild a lot more up top. lolipoping its called. now would be the time to do it if your going to. i think it would be worth it since your not gonna get much light under there anyway.

Ive been removing the lower nodes throughout the last week or so. Ive kept some of them because a few side branches arent much taller than the screen. I chopped off (3) branches from the Power Skunk as they never really took off and were less than 1' tall. The nodes I LST'd are turning upwards again.
I bought some Jacks Bloom Booster and I'll be using that instead of the FF nutes from now on. I dont think they have enough N in them, whereas Jacks has plenty.
They get fed tomorrow night so I'll upload some pics then.

Forgot to mention. I bought (2) large 900 gram (2 pounds) desiccant packs. Should get them tonight. Hope they are able to alter the humidity. Fingers crossed...

Well, I think the desicaant packs were a waste of time. I put both in last night and peeked at the RH from time to time. They didnt really do anything. Because my grow room has constant fresh air intake and exhaust, all I am doing is just filling up the desiccant packs with humidity without actually lowering it. Oh well, gonna spark some up and prep their meal for tonight.

very nice man what type of vent fan are you using im looking into a 4inch fan for a 250hps light i noticed you had a vent fan and running the same watts just making sure im going with the best choice for my light.

Im running multiple fans. They are Soler & Palau TD series inline fans. Very quiet, kinda pricey. Only noise is sound of air moving in the ducts. I highly recommend. The other intake and exhaust fans are behind the removeable wall.
My room is: Carbon filter -------> 200 cfm fan -------> light -------> 150 cfm booster fan -------> outside

The fans are extremely effective though. I had all the buds touching the glass about a week or so ago, before I LST'd them. Nothing was burnt except for my bong.

Shoud I add some more nitrates when I feed? I just dont want the yellowing to get too much worse.

Day 60.
Just gave the ladies a thorough watering and feeding. They normally get about a gallon each so i gave them 2 gallons each this time.
Also added some Jacks blossom booster and molasses.
Will post pics tomorrow.

Day 67
Flowering 32 days
Still have some yellowing on one branch. The hairs are starting to turn amber. The smell is pretty intense when I open the grow room door.
Got some pics for ya. Delicious...
