The DROOP is real help!

Hey y’all! My buddy is having a problem that I can’t fix..
I gave one of the indoor veg to outdoor plants I have to my buddies and for some reason it’s dropping worse than I’ve ever seen. The couple differences is his yard gets more light (he lives in the country vs me in a neighborhood) and his water comes from a well.
He’s had it for a week and a half and it’s been droopy the whole time but was perfectly healthy in my yard. The stipules(?) are also darkening on the tips, something I haven’t seen before.
I watered with around a gallon, which he is also doing.
We thought heat/light stress at first.
Then I thought overwatering because he gave it a gallon every other day for a week.
I told him to let it dry out the next couple days then water and see if that helps. And ph his water.
It’s just so bad I’m not quite sure what’s wrong. Any suggestions? Anything would help honestly.
I’m on my second grow and am confident but can always learn more and am no way a great grower

Overwatering and under watering look a lot alike. Under tends to make the leaves fall completely flat against the stem. Since yours are curved I think it’s overwatering. The soil even looks pretty dark and wet, from here. Test soil with your finger up to your first knuckle and see if it feels wet or damp. If so, stop watering for 2-3 days. If it perks up then that’s your answer. Don’t water again until the finger test is dry. Hope this helps. :leaf:

Thanks a ton that’s basically what I told him so it’s good to hear some reassurance!
i did the finger test after I took the pics and it was still pretty moist.
