The difference between Early and Late Harvest

Please weigh in with pics and expertise on the topic

When you harvest early, the buds won't be finished, and when you harvest late, it's too late.

What if you trim all leaves so the buds can get more light , sort of a final trim

Early harvest is bad IMO. You miss out on so much weight and potency.
Harvesting late isn't bad, unless it's ridiculously late.

I think a lot of people harvest too early, tbh.

When buds are premature, they are high in starch and low in THC. At the peak of flowering, they begin to convert the bud starch into sugars to help fuel the rapid growth of peak flowering.

High starch weed with low THC will be papery and won't crumble when you squeeze it, even when dry. Low starch weed with a good cure with crush to a powder when its dry and you squeeze it.

Wait until their ready. you've been waiting this long for it to get to where it is now. No harm in waiting a little longer.

To harvest early is to deprive yourself of bud

check your tric color (white at least)

To harvest Late is to deprive yourself of bud

check your tric color (Amber is Good)

While I completely agree with everyone above, I choose to harvest a cola or two about 10 - 14 days early off of the plants I've grown for a couple of reasons. I feel the buzz in each case is a little more 'uplifting' and therefore daytime appropriate, and it does help expose lower buds to more light. I also do it as a hedge against getting ripped off and ending up with nothing. But I completely agree - the buds are not near as full, and the smell isn't nearly as nice but I still thoroughly enjoy the buzz.

If you're growing for personal use, experiment and make your own decision about the result. That's the great thing about growing your own, it's all about doing it YOUR way.

No bud should turn into powder if you squeeze it. Way too dry
