@Singlemalt do you know the name of the Sicilian bread with red pepper flake on the outside, or was that just something the baker made up?
Had a sandwich made with that and I loved it.

Got a regular sandwich loaf going using yeast. Flour is 50/50 bread and all purpose.





Just fed this a few hours ago. It's full of spunk.

thats actually fairly common style, so there are a number of breads usually named "red pepper....", red pepper grisinni which is a bread stick thing; RP taralli a bagel shaped thing, etc. Local places may have a specific bread thats known but I'm not aware of it, as I said its a fairly common thing they do to breads; like olive loafs, etc. Sorry

Damn that sounds good. I'll research it later but sounds like something I need to make. Lots of awesome breads that can be made. I need to start doing more than just a plain sourdough.

I’ve been known to make an olive loaf every now and then.

Kalamata and Rosemary.

There's a Libyan mess hall style hole in the wall in my city and the fucking fresh out the oven for you naan bread smothered in butter and whatever the fuck is perhaps the tastiest bread I've ever had.

Not me. I always found cinnamon masked it really well. So I always made a cinnamon streusel cake with my butter and later the friendship bread.

One thing we did have in the middle of nowhere was a great bread place. It's ashame it's gone. When I first walked in the place I thought "The church of bread" it was amazing.
