Hey fletch i used to watch that show all the time as a kid. On nik-a-low-dian however the fuck its spelled.

I've put vanilla extract on it and it had a vanilla type taste to it then i smoked some friends up on it and they all thought it was vanilla kush.. when we were all blasted i told them the truth then i had just put vanilla extract on it, they almost shit there pants.

did you, like, pour some on it, or put a cutting in a cup to soak up the vanilla

This was my first thought. It would only seem right if Fdd faded a bud to black. Wicked experiment tho props Fdd.

black bud is very possible. i seen a plant that was grown with a specific nutrient deficiency (and also very high potassium iirc)
in the soil. only downside was it was 1.5ft and only had about 1/4oz of bud.

water cured bud looks pretty black. when I tried it I put alittle vanilla in the water on the last day(that might have contributed to how black it was) it tasted pretty damn good too!

Great thread! Would like to see some concrete answers about the absorbtion of grape juice and flavours.

But i am interested in fucking with the flavor. other than usin that Tasty Puff shit (the lil spray bottle bud flavoring they advertise in hightimes - tried it a while back n liked it, but this is more technical than that, now that im growin, lol) - but actually now that i think about it - what if you were to use a diluted solution of tasty puff??? just water it down like a motherfucker, n stick the stem in there for a day to soak it up like fdd did with the grapefruit juice. they DO have a shitload of flavors, and this shit is engineered to BURN a certain flavor. Maybe we should be tryin it like that?? Im too new to growing to balls out experiment n potentially waste a fat nug, but maybe ill try a bud or two offa my next grow comin up here, n see how it works....

i recently watched a documentary about what is really in our food. it was an eye opener ill tell you. but we over here in ireland and england have a line of skittles that are illegal to import into america because of a certain e number being banned. i cant find anything on it at the moment but ill keep looking.

yea yea, the blue smarties contained a dodgy e number which made kids freak out or sumshit. they sorted it though.

From reading this thread all that has been encountered is dye will change the color however tasted bad. Did anyone actually try food flavoring, did it change the taste of the bud or color?

ok i read this hole thread and no pics i just want to try to dye my buds purple or blue ,yes or no will it work ,and will oj work for flavoring?

Ok, here's my idea (which I will try in 3 weeks at harvest).

I am planning to water cure at least a third of my bud so for some of it:

1. I will water cure for the first 2 days in Food Coloring
2. I will water cure an additional 5-7 days in plain water

The idea behind this theory is that I will stain the plant matter, but then flush out the bulk of the food coloring so that it does not burn and leave a bad taste. I will report on results, and meanwhile... I'm going to try and study the chemical composition of food coloring. Very well may be that food coloring that was deposited on the bids burnt and contributed to the awful taste. I'm interested for shits and giggles. Any feedback as to if the buds were water cured to leach out the excess food coloring???

makes sence, i did the same thing in 6th grd science with a magnolia. they are both flowers should be fine. thats the shit man! im going to have some multi colored trippy ass dank for the next fest! u rule!
