The Church Grow and smoke report

Strain: GHS The Church

Growth: I unfortunately got a hold of 2 5 packs from a bad batch, had horrible germination rates like many other did at the time.....seems to be straightened out now by GHS, the rates seem normal now from everything Ive read recently..Starts off a little slow but picks up after 2-3 weeks in veg. Doesnt stretch much in flower and likes being topped.

Buds are nicely sized and hard as a rock. No complaint.


Nutes: Jacks classic all purpose and blossom booster

Yield: Above average, would consider it good yielding. One of the better yielding strains to run through my perpetual grow over the last year or so.

Bag Appeal: Above average, nice red hairs in abundance and a nice tone of green...some frost, not a lot.


Smell: Smells good, little bit sweet, not spectacular but the smell is inviting


Taste: Tastes good, not especially strong..slight hint of a citrus in there sometimes.


The High: I know some are gonna get pissy, but I am gonna be completely honest and straight forward here. The high is a major disappointment. On a scale of 1-10 for a daily smoker id rate it a 5. For an occasional/light/inexperienced smoker (AKA my wife) its a 7.


Comments:
I grew out Church on 2 runs, flowering for 8 weeks then 9.5 weeks. I got the same results, a hardy quick and dense flowering plant that lacks a real punch.

During the time I grew The Church out I ran 8 other strains through my grow (Violator Kush, Hashplant Haze, Lockstock, Rocklock, Skunk Kushberry, Skunk #1, Sharksbreath, and a strain I got through 3 bagseed grows)
Out of the 9 strains I ran it was by far the weakest smoke and buzz.

Great growing, yielding and cloning strain. It falls short on the buzz though.

i have never grown or smoked the church,but thanks for the info,a bit of a put off to me..

sounds like maybe bad pheno or somethin went wrong in ur grow. I've seen/smoked few different GHS church crops and it's high is uncontrollable.

Might be the pheno, nothing at all wrong w/my grow. I have a friend that just grew out a 5 pack (only 3 of his germed) and got the same result. Nice yield but very average smoke.

ya you get high, but the smell and taste are nothing special

Im not saying you dont get high, I did as did everyone I shared it with...just not high enough for me or my friends.
It grows super fast, clones real easy and has a nice yield. If the buzz was better it would be ideal for my perpetual grow.
Id just rather keep my grow w/ the best genetics I can.

This isnt the only strain that Ive run that didnt make the cut. I dont mind going through a bunch of stains to find exactly what I wasnt as far as buzz, yield, taste, smell, appearance and ease of growth. In the past 18 months Ive gone through at least 15 different strains and have selected 2 to keep (Violator Kush, Hashplant Haze) and might have just found 2 more winners (Sharksbreath, Pure AK both flowering now).

I grew The Church and was sorely disappointed, it was weak with very little taste and smell good yield yes but thats kinda pointless if the smoke isnt very good.
I grew GHS Chemdog along side and that was really nice but The negative reports here about church are exactly how i felt about it, a complete let down.
