The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

The difference is I asked them straight out what the red diodes were and they said Epistar, they did not try to bullshit me saying its diodes that it was not. I currently use boards from them, the older ones without the red, they have not given me one bit of issue since day one and I've done nice grows under them. Whether they're honest about the samsung diodes I am not sure, but there are numerous people here growing their boards without any issue.
I didn't say they wouldn't grow, it's my way of filtering through the thousands of companies in China. Those red diodes wouldn't reach 2m/joule. They are just there to look pretty.

2x Meijui 3000K 288's w/ far red and a 3000K CMH are working okay!

So are there any Chinese companies handling QB boards that you'd recommend?

In lieu of that, what would you like to see in a QB board with added reds?

I really don't know if it is worth it for you guys to purchase boards from China at all, have you worked out the savings after you calculate the freight as opposed to just buying a real quantum board? I thought the genuine hlg product was actually quite cheap. I don't recommend any company in China selling these boards, I know how China works and unless I am involved directly with them and making sure that they are up to a standard I expect then I can't recommend a company there. If they are going to add reds I would expect the reds to be high performance reds not some crappy Chinese packed 2 cent chip.

Unless you can prove that, then maybe you shouldn't even speculate? Give me just one shred of evidence that for instance Meijiu lies about bins?

I am referring to a genuine HLG product, regarding lm301b I know that they will always buy the cheapest bin they can find cause that's how it works in China. Those red chips set off alarm bells for me and tell me that they do not care about performance.

I don't agree with their choice of epileds in those boards either, and I know a lot of chinese companies do that... But to generalize and say they all do isn't fair game.

I'm not going to argue with you about it, I just explained why I wouldn't use that company, you can do what you want.

You're not gonna argue because you are weaseling your way out of what I asked for. Please prove that Meijiu doean't use top bins?

I am really not sure at all what you are trying to prove here. Can you make it clear to me?
HLG was making their stuff in China too... That's why these manufacturers in china are able to give us the same product for less. I don't agree with that, but if it grows my plants equally I just don't give a F... One of theae days I will do a side by side between HLG and the Chinese boards, and I'm sure someone already has... Unless HLG is getting priveleged bins from samsung, which I doubt... Then it's the same 3030 diode as any tom, dick and harry can purchase off of digikey.

OK so what you are saying is if you can save $10 and take a risk of getting a top bin or lower bin it doesn't matter because you saved $10 and so long as it does the job you saved $10 so you are happy to let a company that did the research to be copied be fucked over because you can save $10. That's fine, your money so what you want. If you want to find out if they are using a top bin or not then get on a plane and go to China to visit this factory to find out if your $10 saving was worth it. My advice is don't eat eggs in China.

You're not saving $10 if you live in EU, besides they sometimes offer free shipping and are able to fix the shipping invoice which means I save at least 40-50%

If they are offering free shipping it means they are fucking you somewhere else. Go to China please and come back and tell us all of your adventures and how awesome it is for cheap stuff.

I do not know what your problem is with me and I really do not care what it is. I am in China twice a year and I know how they operate after 13 years of dealing in the led industry. Go to China and become a competitor to me and then come back and speak to me.
