The Case Against Fox News.

I dont know about yall but i have a problem with the mainstream news. last year i was really into fox news but then i started listening to Alex jones and others.

The other day i turned on fox and i could see the spin they put on things.

as a constitutionalist and a true conservative i was offended and ashamed at fox.

what are your thoughts?

I'm pretty disgusted with all mainstream media. MSNBC is the liberal version of fox and is just as bad IMO. I try to get my news from a variety of sources, both liberal and conservative as well as more traditionally unbiased sources. It helps get a better, more rounded view of events and I can make up my own mind instead of having my opinion fed to me by some hot blonde.

fox news has been blocked on my cable box for over 3 years now.
i don't want them getting accidental ratings from my channel surfing.
this decision was reinforced after they hired karl rove, and doubly reinforced after
they hired that sack-of-hammers sarah palin.
the only shows i ever watch on fox are family guy and american dad.
but tbs and adult swim almost obviate the need to have any fox channel unblocked.
hmmm... i think i just though of something.

I remember watching shows ( I think The daily show) point out how FOX intentionally splices different videos together, creating their own reality. I think it had to do with something in Washington D.C, some kind of republican rally where they took old footage of a large crowd of people in the same spot (footage from 4 months or so prior at a different rally) and used it to look like the event drew a larger crowd than it actually did.. Sorry for being so vague, but I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about.

Like doc said, all mainstream media is crappy, but I think FOX is getting singled out most of the time because of how liberal most media is (again, the daily show)

Edit: Oh yea, FOX made a deal with sun sports (my station to watch my MLB team) where on saturday if the game is before 7PM they can't show it.. I have to listen to the game on the radio saturdays

they take half the facts and twist them into twice the truths. why would anyone watch any of those news shows i have no clue. might as well put on some "Rock of Love" or something. it is just another type of drama.

Fox news also started and endlessly promotes the "grassroots" (more like astroturf) teabagger rallies. That "reality splicing" mentioned a couple posts above was to do with this, FOX news used footage from multiple protests to make a teabagger demonstration on capitol hill seem to be hundreds of thousands stronger than it actually was.

I'm really tired of the local news using the medicinal marijuana to get viewers, especially fox news. Anytime something bad happens that has anything to do with MJ they are all over it talking about how bad it is. Well they don't say it, they imply it just like the media does. Instead of reporting facts they have to add all these opinions which is total bullshit when your reading off a fuckin teleprompter how can you have an opinion? Yeah they always have the MJ story last at blow it way out of proportion while at the same time they are cashing in on it's popularity, I mean it did get passed by the majority so there are a lot of people who are interested in these stories and it just makes everyone who uses MJ to seem evil. I won't even watch fox news anymore after all the bullshit speculating and downright lies they reported on recent MJ news. It's just like how the media attacked MTV for broadcasting jersey shore and that bitch getting punched in the face, while at the same time replaying the clip over and over on their own channel to get ratings. I fuckin hate the news, they keep trying to manipulate people into thinking a certain way instead of just reporting the news, and the news they decide to report is so irrelevant it's disgusting. Why not actually report on the shit that matters instead of the same old shit?

man, you're just reading everything wrong today. FOX banned my network from showing my team on saturdays, so I joked they feel the same way about my team and baseball as you feel about baseball.
With that being said, this isn't a baseball thread. I don't understand why you are trying to argue with me about it. If you don't like it who the hell cares? My original statement is that I like it and FOX is being a dick about it, this has nothing to do with your personal preferences.
Lets try to get back on topic.

from my perspective alex jones is more honest and accurate than the mainstream, but he does take things to far sometimes.
