The biggest RDWC system you ever saw

Well here it goes the building of a 9 pod RDWC system with 30 gal. barrels. So the problem with my current system, 13 gal UnderCurrent is the root mass fills the pod right up so need more room. So I decided to build one big monster for my plants. Here are the start pictures. The part that suprised me when building was the price of the 4" schedule 40 pipe and fittings, big bucks. You can see the difference in the filters, I need one that will flow 2500gph. So I have about $3600 into it so far.

9 30 gal barrels $200
1 45gal top up res. $30
1 hp chiller $800 (got a smoking deal)
1 280 watt air pump $300
1 2245gph water pump $250

I hope you have 1k watts per pod! You will need it to penetrate that jungle that will grow in there.

So I'm sitting in my hot tub last week and I started thinking how much air was being pumped out and what a great way to grow, no shit for real, for now we will see just how big a plant I can grow.

I can put as much power to them as I like, got lots of 1000w hanging around to use.

Dude I had some really big monsters in DWC, I would run 4 air stones per 5 gal bucket using the same pumps you use and they would grow big in veg like 4-5 feet and then they grew even bigger in flower. My light is probably close to 7.5 feet and I literally had to LST my Super Lemon Haze in flower using fishing weights and string. You will definitely grow some trees if you give them a lot air and let them veg for 4-6 weeks.

This is awesome. I am eager to see some updates.

The scale is impressive but why? Where you gonna grow 10' plants? How long do you plan to veg in that monstrosity?

i was thinking about something like this using a greenhouse with supplemental lighting using vertical 1000w maybe next year

Growing this way produces massive root growth and the 15 gal buckets are full of roots at about 6 1/2 weeks, so I need more root room = 30 gallon barrels
I will veg 4 weeks.

I guess I'll watch.

Totally excited to see your monster experiment... you still gonna run the Dutch Master Gold line this time around? any CO2 supplementation? are you still going to top & LST them this round?

I know what you mean. I let my Super Lemon Haze Veg for about 2 months and the root ball gets so big during 12/12 ( the size of a basketball) that it becomes almost impossible to control PH swings.
