The biggest problem with Genesis in Christianity

Original Sin

Without that single biblical concept in the Book of Genesis, we would be living in a very different world today

Without original sin, why would we need Jesus?

It's always bothered me how Christians can seemingly cherry pick things they like and dismiss things they don't from their own book of religious teachings, but it seems odd to credit single concepts and dismiss the rest, even when they're in the same paragraph, if not the same sentence!

It'd be like someone saying "Drink water to sustain your life, eat the animals and plants, and stand on your head for two hours every day to ward off evil spirits" and some Christian comes along and says "1, check, 2, check.... but 3... eh, that doesn't really fit well with my schedule, let's just say 3 was meant to be taken figuratively.." but people who don't do 1 & 2 get the sword!

Yes original sin, no talking snakes.. Yes Jesus, no man from dirt, woman from mans rib...

The biggest problem is trying to apply logic to religious belief.
It's a losing battle because you are trying to subvert someones identity and worldview, however illogical it might be. Instead of trying to argue about the stupidity of religion, lead by example. Religious people have this distorted view that you cannot be moral without religion. If you prove yourself to be moral and non-religious it will chip away at their worldview.
